What a disappointment! I first had the cream and, as I loved the scent, I wanted the perfume. But now that I have it, I don’t like it. Upon analysing it, I see they are different things: the cream is floral, while the perfume is fruitier and sweet-sour, like cherry. They have nothing to do with each other. Besides, the scent is very soft, and for the price, it’s not worth investing in something that barely smells of peony.
It doesn’t bother me, but it doesn’t grab me either; I expected much more from this brand. It’s ideal for mixing with another perfume. It lingers on the skin and has average projection. I wouldn’t buy it again given how indifferent I find it.
I have a review for the 2011 version, which, by the bottle code, refers to this same fragrance. The criticism is that it doesn’t last, lacks projection, and you have to apply a lot of product. The scent is lovely—a realistic and well-crafted peony—but the value for money is a rip-off: it shouldn’t cost more than £20 given its poor performance. I see I’m not the only one saying this… Once I finish the 15 or 20 ml I have left, I’ll look for a substitute from Aqua di Parma or a department store.
