About Private Blend: Currantfunk
Private Blend: Currantfunk, a New Oriental Fragrance from Ensar Oud
Ensar Oud introduces Private Blend: Currantfunk, an oriental fragrance for women and men, launched in 2025. The new addition to the Private Blend line reflects the house’s love of dense, natural compositions.
The ingredient list runs from mandarin, Sichuan pepper, blackcurrants, blueberries and cherry to blue lotus, jasmine, rose, helichrysum, black tea, frankincense, beeswax, resins, amber, myrrh, ambergris, castoreum, hyraceum, civet, musk and oud wood. The result is warm, smoky, fruity and deeply animalic.
Private Blend: Currantfunk arrives as a new release from Ensar Oud in 2025. The blackcurrant, blueberry and cherry notes stand at the front, with mandarin and Sichuan pepper adding an uplifting citrus and spice accent.
The main accords are amber, musky, animalic, fruity, sweet, smoky, floral, citrus, balsamic and warm spicy. What makes the perfume interesting is the tension between those elements: the sweetness of fruit and honeyed beeswax sits against the darker pull of resin, smoke and animal musks.
Blue lotus, jasmine, rose and helichrysum form the floral side, supported by black tea and frankincense. Beeswax and resins give the blend a balsamic texture, while amber, myrrh and ambergris add a persistent Oriental warmth.
Castoreum, hyraceum, civet and musk bring a raw, sensual depth. Over that, oud wood supplies the familiar Ensar Oud signature: a dark, powerful presence that anchors the whole composition and stretches its longevity.
The fragrance currently holds a perfect 5 out of 5 rating, though it is based on a single review. For now, Currantfunk stands as a bold piece of niche perfumery, aimed squarely at connoisseurs of the genre.
Best suited to connoisseurs of powerful orientals, fans of oud and animalic textures, and anyone who likes unisex perfumes with real presence.
Private Blend: Currantfunk is a striking addition to Ensar Oud’s collection. It is not a quiet fragrance by any means, but for those who enjoy deep, evolving scents, it proves fascinating from first spray to the final trail.
