Prolixe by Histoires de Parfums is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Julien Rasquinet. The olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of cardamom and ginger; a floral and spicy heart featuring rose, frankincense, and chamomile; and a warm, earthy base blending patchouli, tobacco, and oud wood.

Generic in the pink/oud world, yet with an energetic opening from cardamom and ginger that carry the scent initially before settling into a combination of rose and chamomile over a tobacco/oud base. It’s sweet and pleasant for an oud, smelling more of wood than resin. The chamomile adds a honeyed touch without being cloying. Very elegant; I think it’s the kind of perfume for personal enjoyment. Without the chamomile it would be ‘just another’, but that note gives it a distinctiveness that sets it apart in its line.
A classic pink/oud with a livelier opening thanks to the cardamom and ginger, which bring the whole fragrance forward until it settles and reveals a duo of rose and chamomile over a tobacco and oud base. It smells sweet and pleasant for an oud, with more wood than resin. The chamomile lends a honeyed nuance without being cloying. Very elegant; I believe it’s the typical perfume for solitary enjoyment. Without the chamomile it would be ‘just another’, but that note gives it a special touch that distinguishes it within its line.
Excellent perfume, spicy and sweet, with an opening that smells like cough syrup. After a few minutes, it reveals a strong cardamomo note paired with a very dark, deep rose, over a base of patchouli and an oud that is noticeable but not intrusive. By the hour, soft notes of tobacco and incense emerge. I don’t detect the chamomile or ginger. Overall, it’s a fantastic fragrance—complex, dark, and highly enjoyable. Given its notes, it suits cooler days better, but there are no rules; wear it whenever you like. It’s unisex, though it suits a man in a leather jacket and motorcycle best. It smells mature, elegant, persistent, yet with a moderate sillage. Six sprays last from 7 am to 6 pm, leaving trails just for yourself.
