Like the The Different Company stand is among those of Etat Libre d’Orange, Sisley and Annick Goutal, and as I’m determined to buy something from this niche house, besides acting as an ‘aromatic tester’ for a friend, I took the opportunity to try it again for the nth time and… I like it more and more. It’s a gourmand, sweet but not cloying, pleasant but not ‘edible’. It can even be sexy… I think every woman should give it a second chance.
The scent is very special and soft. It smells clean. The smell of almonds or amarettis and amber predominates. There’s a very soft floral note that I can’t detect. It’s for daytime wear in spring because it weighs nothing. One feels very comfortable with it. It’s not extraordinary but very easy to wear by any woman, regardless of age. Recommended for going to work because you won’t annoy colleagues with a nauseating scent.
This fragrance brings glory to sunny spring days with a little breeze. It’s pleasant, with acceptable performance, and gives the sensation that you’ve just dressed up. When you apply it, you feel you’ve finished the routine of freshly laundered clothes. It smells clean, dense, like flax with soap and a touch of natural almond. It’s not gourmand; it’s pure cleanliness. Its versatility is marvellous; it goes with any garment and at any time. Totally unisex. Celine Ellena (daughter of JC Ellena) has created a great fragrance, a top pick from The Different Company. Why? Because it’s pleasant and has very good longevity, more than acceptable these days. If clean clothes had a scent, it would be Pure eVe. If white, cottony clouds had an aroma, it would be Pure eVe. Marvellous for spring.
I still don’t understand the name change; for me, it will always be Pure Virgin. The title said it all: a virgin perfume of synthetics with a brutal concentration of natural essences. Flax flower, white rose, musk… notes that give sensuality. What I look for in a good scent is that it doesn’t resemble another, and this one is unique. The trail is impressive, warm, sweet, yet soft. A classic among my favourites.
