Descripción
Rosabotanica by Balenciaga is a green floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault. The olfactive pyramid opens with top notes of fig leaf, petit grain and hyacinth; the heart reveals a blend of rose, bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom; and the base settles on cedar, woody notes, vetiver, patchouli and white amber.

It’s a beautiful bottle; I fell in love with the packaging and it costs $130, and to be honest, that’s not much. It’s a no-nonsense perfume: it starts with a subtle touch of jasmine, then dries down to the fig leaf, followed by patchouli and finally pink pepper. I don’t detect any woody notes at all; the rose is very simple for the price. It’s a shame, as I thought that since the bottle is divine, the perfume would be tremendous, and it turned out to be a real letdown.
This flanker is far more interesting than the original; the opening is delicious. You can feel the green fig leaf, something spicy and almost bitter, a real surprise upon application: you either love it or hate it, but I was smitten. Afterwards, it doesn’t change much, just a hint of rose with jasmine and a green that seems like vetiver; the base is warm thanks to the amber and woods. It’s younger and fresher than its predecessor, similar but better. The trail and longevity are shorter, it’s fresher and more fleeting, perfect for spring and summer. I adore the bottle.
I also fell in love with Ambrelover. I think the grape leaf is what gives it that fresh, youthful touch. It’s a beautiful, spicy rose; the jasmine and vetiver play their part well, making it fresh and sparkling, juicy yet not cloying. It lasts all day, and what a stunning bottle.
At first, it comes across strong, even spicy, but it softens until it becomes a refreshing, very feminine scent, perfect for spring. Whenever I wear it, people tell me I smell like delicious flowers. The bottle is gorgeous: the combination of flowers, colours, and the central tube with those white and black stripes makes it truly interesting.
I bought this today and was instantly captivated by that green, herbal, fresh, and slightly spicy opening, with a bitter touch that gives it character. It stays this way for about 10-15 minutes before evolving, when the rose, fig leaf, and jasmine take over, doing a brilliant job. It doesn’t come across as sweet, which is my favourite; I find it fresh yet personality-packed, keeping me entertained while testing blends. I loved it immensely and recommend it 100%.
I’d like to add that it has excellent longevity. I’m delighted; I’d never tried a Balenciaga before, and what a pleasure my first experience was so delicious and convincing me to buy again. I insist, 100% recommended; the bottle is a design bonus, but the scent is what matters, and it’s everything one could ask for.
Picked this up today and I was absolutely blown away by that green, herbal, fresh opening, with a spicy, bitter twist that, to be honest, is brilliant. It lasts as is for about 10-15 minutes before evolving beautifully, when the rose, fig leaf and jasmine really shine. It doesn’t come across as sweet, which is what I usually prefer, but instead it’s super fresh yet characterful, keeping me entertained as I try out different blends. I loved it and would recommend it 100%.
I bought this months ago on offer and because of the reviews. In my opinion, summer and the heat are the ideal time to wear it, as it doesn’t have much staying power on me, to be fair. I detect it more as green than floral, with the rose being less prominent than the vetiver and grapefruit. It’s very fresh, which is why it suits the heat so well; overall I like it, though I wouldn’t repurchase it.
I picked it up months ago on offer and because of the reviews. For me, summer is the ideal moment because it doesn’t last long on my skin, so it comes across as greener than floral, with less rose and more vetiver and grapefruit. It’s very fresh, which is why it suits the heat so well. I like the overall blend, though I won’t be repurchasing.
Bought it because I adore Florabotánica and it’s no longer available, but I’m not sure how it was stored; honestly, I didn’t like it. It feels very rough and astringent; it’s a juicy, realistic rose that smells more like air freshener than perfume. It’s not my style, and those 15ml will end up in the curtains.
I picked it up in Mexico at a good price to pair with Florabotánica, and it brings back childhood memories. Here, it’s harder to come by than the other one, so if you see it cheap, it’s worth it. To me, it smells of strong citrus rose with green notes from the fig leaf that give it a boost. Good projection and decent longevity. It’s not totally feminine, but it reminds me of my aunties’ friends in the 90s, confident women in their thirties living their lives. As everyone says, the bottle is gorgeous and heavy; another treat. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
I picked up a decant of this discontinued scent at a good price in Mexico to keep alongside Florabotánica, and I have to say it reminds me of a familiar aroma from my childhood. In Mexico it’s already harder to find these days than Florabotánica, so if you spot it at a good price, it’s worth it. I clearly perceive a citrusy, strident rose accompanied by green notes; the fig leaf gives the composition extra punch. It has good projection and quite decent longevity. It’s a scent that, while not entirely feminine, reminds me a lot of my aunt’s friends when I was a kid back in the 90s, yes, that’s what it evokes, girls/women from the 90s rocking the 30s, confident in themselves and living their lives. As everyone mentions, the bottle is very beautiful and heavy, making it another joy of a perfume. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
I absolutely adore this perfume for its polarity, freshness, and naturalness. It’s a distinct rose, full of nuances and contradictions: a wild, fresh rose with fleshy, velvety petals dripping with dew, intertwined with fig leaves that add a crunchy, green, slightly rough touch. There are perceptible citrus notes and a very marked spicy pepper. It’s a rebellious, exotic, very natural rose, full of thorns, loud and eye-catching; far from gentle, yet brimming with life and verdancy. As it dries, its lovely woods emerge, along with a hidden vetiver nestled among so many leaves and roses. Rosabotanica portrays the rose in a peculiar, original, and interesting way, viewing it from another perspective and under a different light—that is what I love about its unique character. What a pity it has been discontinued. It’s a fragrance that suits any occasion, with spectacular longevity and projection.
I absolutely adore this perfume, its polarity, freshness and naturalness. It’s a different kind of rose, full of nuances and contradictions: a wild, fresh rose with fleshy, velvety petals, dripping with dew, intertwined with fig leaves that give it a crunchy, green, perhaps slightly rough edge.
