  • I love it; it only brings back good memories of my years living in the English capital, which was a long time ago.

  • I received this as a gift three months ago. Now I live in London studying and still come back to Madrid to unwind. London feels like Madrid but more cramped and damp. Certain pubs have a great atmosphere; that’s where I meet everyone, locals and visitors alike. One night I was out with friends when a girl with dark hair and very pale skin smelled… smelled… wonderful. To give you some context, I don’t have a great sense of smell, especially in a crowd. This scent creates an impressive aura around you. My favourite.

They bought it for me online as a gift thanks to your review, Torrente; many thanks. It’s a true black pearl. I enjoy it every day.

  • I absolutely love it; it brings back only good memories of my years living in the English capital, which was a long time ago.

It’s no surprise there aren’t many reviews, because only perfume freaks, the experts, know about it, as it’s something rare you can’t find anywhere. I found out about it not because I’m an expert, but while walking with my friend Steve through London. He took me to a place I didn’t know, a sort of old, well-known barbershop there. I felt like I was in Bilbo Baggins’ house or in an 18th-century laboratory. A whole experience. Wood, lavender (I suppose for after shaving), and a sense of warmth with extraordinary concentration. Fabulous, there’s no other word, as if it came straight from a story of the old days.

  • They gave it to me as a gift three months ago. Now I live in London for my studies and still come back to Madrid to rest. London is like Madrid, but more cramped and humid. There are certain pubs with a great atmosphere; that’s where I meet everyone, both locals and passers-by. One night I arrived with friends and a British girl with black hair and very pale skin who smelled… smelled… yes, she smelled very good. To give you an idea, I don’t have a great sense of smell, especially in the middle of a crowd. That scent creates an impressive aura around you. It’s my favourite.

Hello everyone, could anyone sell me a sample or decant of this perfume? Many thanks!! A big hug.

A lost gem! It’s a powerful sandalwood from start to finish. Excellent price-to-quality ratio. If you like these notes, it’s a 10/10. It’s not for the young, but for those over 45; it fits perfectly. As Torrente says, it’s a black pearl. You put it on, close your eyes, and you feel like you’re in London in 1900. Simply wonderful!

Bestial. Chanel Egoiste has always been my favourite, but this one has left me speechless. I tried it in a decant and then bought the SFGTrumper bottle, and it has truly impacted me. It’s a brighter, cleaner Egoiste with about an 80% similarity. SFGT is more citrusy and luminous at the start, whereas Egoiste is more woody and has a rather odd dry-down. In the middle, both are floral, but SFGT stands out for its lavender, giving it a soapy, barbershop touch. In the end, Egoiste becomes spicier with tobacco and ambrette, while SFGT is sweeter due to the vanilla. SFGT is more linear; you know where it’s going from the very first moment, unlike Egoiste which evolves more. Furthermore, SFGT lasts and projects two hours longer, around 10 hours. Conclusion: if you have one, you don’t need the other. For versatility and longevity, I’m sticking with Sadalwood F. Geo Trumper. A gem of perfumery.

I tried to hold it in, but I couldn’t. The opening is fresh and citrusy, but then something spicy or powdery floral creeps in that gives me nausea and a headache. The same thing happened with Chanel Egoiste; if you’re sensitive to that, forget both of them—they are unbearable.

I’ve tried to like this fragrance but it’s impossible for me. Although the opening is citrusy, fresh, and pleasant, there’s a component (spices like cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, or powdery florals such as rose or carnation) that makes me nauseous and gives me a headache. I had the same issue with Chanel Egoiste; both are unbearable if you’re sensitive to any of these notes.
