Il Profvmo's Santal Rouge is a woody-spicy men's fragrance from 2011.
Bitter orange leads, followed by a heart of sandalwood, carnation and red berries on a base of clove and Brazilian rosewood.
The first impression is dry, bitter citrus. Rather than sparkling freshness, the bitter orange creates tension before the wood arrives.
Sandalwood defines the middle, creamy yet restrained. Around it, carnation brings a peppery, floral powderiness, and red berries add a small, bright fruit note that lightens rather than sweetens.
Clove and Brazilian rosewood form the foundation. The clove supplies warmth and spice, while the rosewood keeps the woods going with a gentle balsamic flavour.
The wear is woody, warm-spicy and lightly powdery, with citrus traces early on. It reads as a drier, faintly reddish sandalwood with spice to the fore.

This fragrance is dedicated to the beautiful sandalwood which in itself is usually a wood that smells spectacular, both in natural and synthetic versions. Well, here as a predominant note it smells horrible. In short, the scent is a kind of highly spiced and poorly balanced sandalwood with a citrus top note that comes across as excessively synthetic combined with a balsamic base with a very inelegant powdery effect. Good longevity and moderate sillage, which is of little use, since this is one of those fragrances you want the scent to disappear from your arm as soon as possible. Rating: 1
It has a strange odour, like ammonia cleaner and kind of soapy. I can’t explain it better, just to say that it smells bad to me and that someone criticised me for wearing it.
