On my skin, it smells like creamy vanilla. The truth is, it smells like some Yves Rocher perfumes or catalogue scents. Common.

  • I find it delicious, interesting and different. It reminds me of something I’ve smelled before, I don’t know what, but it’s good, pleasant and pretty. The blend of bergamot with carrot seeds is curious; the opening has a spark, like a burst of high-end sugary sweets. The white florals, especially the neroli, soften it and give it a tender, evocative touch. I don’t know the labdanum, but it works wonderfully with the benzoin and vanilla. The evolution is subtle and smooth. It has good sillage and longevity. After thirty minutes, it smells very much like Kenzo Power, a heady fragrance that I adore. I put it on two hours ago and it’s still there, fantastic. My children love it; we all use it at home and if I want it to last, I have to hide it. Exquisite. Perfect for any moment and weather. This wonder needs to be worn everywhere.

Ford’s message with Soleil Neige (snow sun) is clear. It’s a very lovely perfume with slightly metallic vanilla, tangled with a very lactonic jasmine and notable neroli, but it never becomes a pure floral; in the mid-phase, the resins emerge and it becomes warm, almost incense-like. The blend isn’t particularly innovative, but it’s comforting: neither pasty vanilla nor a super-formal bomb. It’s quite wearable, unisex, comfortable and pleasant. I feel it’s overrated to be in the Privé Blend line; I’d much rather go for the Métallique from their regular line. It’s a matter of taste, of course. I’ve liked it, but I’d jump at other Ford proposals a thousand times. Longevity is the standard for their recent fragrances. Edit: I sense a strong citrus part, I suppose from the bergamot. If I had the cash and the squad, I’d wear it to go skiing. But I don’t.

  • Soleil Neige is a lovely perfume, although the price is absolutely ridiculous. On my skin, it comes across as citrusy, unique and elegant; you can detect the horticultural touch of carrot seed, which I adore in Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. Then it settles into powdery, metallic and creamy white florals, particularly neroli, with the citrus still present and a resinous aspect. Moderate sillage and lasts about seven hours. It’s perfect for spring or winter mornings; as its name suggests, the snow sun, it keeps the warmth of the benzoin and floral sweetness in check, conveying a cold, metallic sensation that gives it personality. But it has a ridiculous price for what it offers. As I already have other white florals that I adore, I wouldn’t include it in my collection. Scent 6.5/10, Longevity 7/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Value for money 4/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? No, I didn’t.

  • A beautiful white floral. The quality of the ingredients really shows; it’s delicate and luminous, perfectly capturing its name. Good performance and sillage. Ideal for sunny days without too much heat. Very handsome.

  • It hits the spot for me. Starts off citrusy with bergamot, but dries down to become musky and woody. It’s a medium floral, carefree and easy to wear. You can tell the ingredients are high quality. It’s unisex, though it leans slightly feminine. Scent: 10/10, Longevity: 3 hours, Sillage: light, Versatility: 8/10.
