It was nice at first, with a citrus touch and the magnolia is very present. The bottle is pretty, but it lacks more longevity and development on my skin to convince me to buy it.
Sprayed this onto a tissue yesterday. What a pity and such a disappointment, given how much I wanted it! I adore magnolias and this packaging’s colour is one of my favourites. Everything about this launch promised opulence and passion; I was dying to own this bottle and immerse myself in its contents, but the little card smelled of decay. I detected no orange or any flower whatsoever. Just a sour, indescribable scent, perhaps that smell of tanneries when hides are first being tanned, smelling more of a decomposed corpse than of skin. I gave it a few minutes to let the middle notes develop, but it didn’t improve. I had to throw it away. I fervently hope it works wonders on other people’s skin. It’s not for me.
They sprayed it on a piece of paper and what a disappointment, my heart broke. I was dying for this bottle, full of promises, but the paper smelled rotten. I detected neither orange nor flower, just something sour, like cured leather or a corpse. I waited for it to develop, but nothing happened. I threw it away. I hope it works for others, it’s not for me.
I’m smelling it for the second time in a freeshop. I tested it randomly alongside Splendida Jasmin and the jasmine on skin; the jasmine didn’t move me at all, but the magnolia appealed so much that I wanted to try it on skin. It’s settling quite similarly. It’s a soft yet persistent perfume, a harmonious bouquet of slightly creamy, very elegant white florals. More than elegant, it smells arranged, like a petal bath, like cleanliness but with no shampoo scents. It reminds me so much of the little scent of letter paper from my childhood and I love it. I don’t perceive the declared patchouli; if it’s there, it’s not earthy or dry. Reading Nebulosa’s comment, it seems we’ve smelled two completely different perfumes. I find nothing smelling of putrefaction; quite the opposite, it smells of young, fragrant flowers opening. Usually, I don’t say a perfume is feminine, but with this one, I can’t say anything else: it expresses femininity only. Of course, thinking anyone can wear it, we all have feminine and masculine facets. I love it and want it to be part of my collection. Editing with the purchased perfume: I love it and it will be a new favourite; the only ‘bad’ thing is that it doesn’t last long (5-6 hours in 28-degree warm weather), especially considering it’s an EDP and the price, but above all, given how well it smells, I wish it would last forever. Hahaha. It has a slightly bitter base that supports the floral notes and the softly sweet ones. The bottle is exquisite, its saturated colour, its solidity, the weight of the glass and the solid metal cap… The perfect size to hold with one hand (unlike the Vie Est Belle…). Beautiful.

I’ll add some comments from Fragrantica that I think are spot on: dglightblue says the magnolia is a rich, velvety, luminous white floral; ScarlettX notes it smells very expensive and complex; LisIrishFleur recalls childhood magnolias, fresh or with that light soapy aroma, and remarks that this scent is ‘schizophrenic’: sometimes one thing, sometimes another, a real and authentic magnolia. ismellsogood suggests that if you like sensual classic white florals and jasmine buds, this is for you, with silky, velvety vanilla, a warm and sweet floral reminiscent of Dolce & Gabbana’s Pour Femme Intense. I believe the dry-down shares notes with other neroli and musk perfumes, but for me, Magnolia Sensuel remains more complex and sophisticated, slightly bitter and earthy, like flower talcum powder. It seems to split waters between those who find it sharp and waxy and those who see it as floral, citrusy and creamy. Most agree it recreates the natural flower very well. Some say it doesn’t elevate or add an artistic twist, but I don’t see this as a weakness, but rather a strength: it smells natural, a complex blend of flowers and sap juices. I’d buy several bottles to keep if I could.
Oh, what a lovely flower scent, it smells beautiful. The downside is it doesn’t last; it fades incredibly quickly. It projects massively at first, but on my skin it disappears all of a sudden. I don’t know if it’s my pH, as I’m halfway through the bottle and it always happens the same, whether it’s cold or hot.
Beautiful fragrance, truly gorgeous. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long, yet it projects superbly (at least on my skin) until it suddenly vanishes. I’m not sure why; it might be my pH, but I’m two-thirds through the bottle and it happens every time; in cold or heat, the result is the same.
I like it, but I can’t find the magnolia… and I know it very well.
How could one not love this perfume? It’s my inseparable companion. Although I have 40ml left, I’ve already set aside a bottle so I don’t run out, and I’d go into debt without a second thought if they guaranteed me a lifetime supply… After so much use, I can describe it better: the opening isn’t the best, but it’s lovely, floral with a juicy freshness. The magic happens when the opening fades: untypical white flowers bubble up, creamy yet not powdery, with a wild, green touch that keeps the harmony. There’s plenty of neroli, but transformed into a fine, high-quality cream, with no trace of petigrain. It’s the piece that ties everything together. The magnolia is a caress, like the soft bump of a kitten you want to keep stroking. Then a warm, woody vanilla appears for a supreme dry-down. Is it sweet? Yes, but not bakery sweet; it’s a natural sweetness mixed with flowers and softened by musk. Everything has vital, pulsing energy. It has body, doesn’t fade, and maintains a delicate complexity that I’m passionate about. Everything is well executed. The bottle’s burgundy makes me think of velvet: safe and sensual. And I must correct the longevity: eight hours without fail.
Wuaaaooo, what can I say? Absolute luxury. It’s a fragrance that smells exquisite.

Straight to my favourites, I bought it blind and it hasn’t let me down. It smells wonderful and lasts quite a while on the skin. For me, it’s an all-rounder; I use it all the time.
Simply one of my best perfumes; it was a blind buy. It smells wonderful and lasts quite a while on my skin. For me, it’s an all-rounder.
It didn’t convince me at all. It’s a typical pharmacy shampoo scent. Little trail, little longevity, though one must admit the Splendida line’s packaging is still very beautiful.
Exquisite fragrance; it brings a smile to my face when I apply it. I definitely love it. It has good longevity on the skin and moderate projection; if I need to reapply, I will—it’s delicious. New favourite 😍 How did I only discover it four years after its launch? What a wasted time without enjoying it!

What a brilliantly crafted perfume. My issue with florals is that, while they tend to have fresh, sparkling openings, they often dry out into something cloyingly sweet and powdery. Magnolia is different. That high citrus accord accompanies the perfume through all its phases, smelling fresh until it fades. But it’s a discreet citrus. God knows orange bores me easily, but here… ‘orange’ or ‘lemon’ isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. That tells me much about its balance and elegance. The magnolia is accompanied throughout by the subtle freshness of jasmine and mandarin, settled over a sober, creamy vanilla. For now, I’ll stick to its sister, Jasmin Noir, because I’m in love with jasmine and the colour black, but I had to share my admiration for Magnolia Sensuel. A tartlet with mandarin cream to accompany tea. Fresh flowers and a red velvet armchair.

Bvlgari certainly makes some fantastic perfumes, but this one isn’t for me. It’s a citrusy magnolia that feels very chemical and nothing like real magnolia. One of the best magnolias I’ve ever smelled is Miracle by Lancôme. There must be a reason that perfume has remained on the shelves for over 20 years 💖
I wonder what the influencers are smelling before payment to rate this aroma so highly—perhaps I’m the one who’s wrong… What a mundane thing. It’s a volatile fragrance with no trail or longevity, one of the most boring ones around. Barely do I sense a blend of powdery flowers, among which stand out some drunken magnolia petals, incredibly soft. Like the scent of some cosmetic? Yes. To be a Bvlgari perfume? I’m not sure about that.
I was hoping magnolia would be the star. Is there magnolia? Yes, certainly, but it doesn’t shine the brightest; jasmine has a strong presence too. I think it’s a well-crafted scent. It leaves me with an oily sensation that I actually enjoy. Despite having Tahitian vanilla and patchouli, it doesn’t smell dry and sweet; instead, I perceive soapy white flowers. The projection is very low and short, lasting about an hour. I tried it on a 5 ml decant; although it’s pretty, I wouldn’t buy the bottle because the performance is simply too poor.
Terribly disappointing; I sold it for just 30% of what I paid, a loss I always regret. I bought it with high hopes, but what a letdown—it never settled on my skin or even registered. Fortunately, I managed to sell it and recover some money 😣😣
It left me stranded; I sold it at 30% and it was a headache. It was expensive and I regret it bitterly. I bought it with all my heart, but what a letdown. It never settled on my skin, I noticed nothing. Fortunately, I could sell it and recover some money 😣😣
