Star Men Nebula by Fragrance World is a woody oriental fragrance for men, created by Fragrance World's perfumer and launched during the 2010s. Its olfactory pyramid unfolds with fruity top notes of orange and bergamot; a heart evoking whisky, malt, patchouli, coffee and cedar; and a warm base of vanilla, amber, moss and musk.

Here goes: At first it seems like a boring perfume. It starts with orange and bergamot, very noticeable. It reminded me of the pineapple in the opening of Aventus, very bright. This stage lasts only a few minutes. Then that sweet fruity combo stands out, reminiscent of La Nuit De L’Homme Parfum; here the patchouli is noticeable. After some time, the coffee emerges while the patchouli remains and the fruits disappear. The boozy whisky with a malt aroma appears intensely; it stays sweet but is quite toned down. The cedar is hidden in the base, but it’s not the star. Finally, when everything calms down, you notice the subtle vanilla touch and the amber sensation. A great surprise for its wide evolutionary arc. It’s not linear, it has a classic DNA with a 90s vibe; it’s very masculine and doesn’t ask for anything from the new expensive designer perfumes that have the same vibe. Edit: Used it for a while now. What a fantastic fragrance! It has that fruity whisky barrel vibe and at the end a subtle sweet malt lingers. What a pity it doesn’t project much and lasts only about six hours. I’ll try to macerate it to make it stronger. Edit 2 weeks: Definitely lasts and projects now, but it gave me olfactory fatigue. I left it to macerate and it picks up a lot of strength. The opening is orange and bergamot; the fruits feel stronger, the coffee drops to imperceptible levels and the malt mixes with the whisky, blending with the fruit to sweeten it, ending in a sweet, woody malt. It’s for a mature man, 35 and up, it would even suit someone 60+.
What a gem of a perfume, mate! 10 out of 10 and for a mere £15, it’s madness how little it costs for such a fantastic fragrance.
Exquisite, 10/10. At first, the opening smells slightly synthetic, but within five minutes it settles beautifully and I absolutely loved it. It’s addictive and highly recommended. Not for the young; given the price and the fact that it’s discontinued, it’s worth every penny.
Recently Chilean reviewer crack Matías Ross recommended it; I mentioned I had it and my DMs flooded with questions… seeing there were no reviews here, I’m adding mine. At first, the opening was synthetic and strong and I didn’t like it at all, but after a week of airing out, it changed and I no longer disliked it; over time it only got better. Now it smells sweet and boozy; that sweet aroma is curious, I dare say it’s an acquired taste: once you catch it, you like it more and more until you become addicted. In the heart phase, you notice the malt, which I perceive most along with coffee and patchouli, staying sweet, masculine and mature. Up close it smells of amber and resin (the part I like least). I’ve had it for a year and it lasts about four hours on skin; here the scent fades and reappears, but it’s due to olfactory fatigue. On clothes the amber lasts for days, avoid jackets or coats you don’t wash regularly, especially if you use multiple perfumes. I don’t recommend it in heat because it becomes cloying, but in cold weather it’s a delight. It’s not a blind buy due to being an acquired taste; it’s one of those difficult scents you either hate or love, but if you have the £15 and like a gamble… it’s ridiculous value if you like it (I’m going for the third bottle).
Exquisite, 10/10. The opening might feel a bit synthetic, but after five minutes it settles beautifully. I loved it, it’s addictive and totally recommended. It’s not for the young, but given the price and the fact that it’s a discontinued scent, it’s absolutely worth it.
Super boozy whisky opening with loads of fruit; an hour later it settles into a lovely vanilla sweetness, nothing cloying, all surrounded by woods and a very typical Mugler patchouli base. It’s not quite Pure Malt, but for the price, it’s an absolute steal.
What a bargain for a gem costing under £20? Smells glorious, it’s addictive, gives energy, and is very masculine. It’s more for night than day and warmer rather than fresh, but for a summer night out by the Mediterranean, it works like a dream if you control the sprays. The bottle is cool and the atomiser works well.
Smells like Jafra Legend.
To be honest, this perfume is an old memory of what people smelled in the 2000s and 2010s, with a very strong malt scent. However, if you let it dry on the skin, that sweet smell of fruit and vanilla appears; still, the malt predominates over these notes. It is not for someone young, only for someone in their 30s or above. I recommend it because, despite the malt, it ends up having a sweetness that becomes a bit addictive and very masculine.
To be honest, it smells like a memory from the 2000s, with a strong malt aroma. If you let it dry on the skin, the sweetness of fruits and vanilla emerges, but the malt still dominates. It’s not for young people, but rather for someone over thirty. I recommend it because, despite the malt, it ends up being sweet, addictive, and very masculine.
It has no power if you compare it with Pure Malt, and I have six flankers or more already, I can’t even remember them, Pure Leather, Tonka Malt, Havane Ultra Zest, etc. If you are looking for a clone or inspiration… well, this is very weak; it lacks much to reach 100% of Mugler. While it has a resemblance, on the skin it is not worth it unless the power was better… but here the power is only 30% of the original. The best thing about these things is to test on skin and not let yourself be carried away by the emotions of pseudo-perfumists who end up disappointing you. Look for other clones and try them before!
What a fantastic perfume, such a good one; its alcoholic fruit scent created an addiction in me.
Star Men Nebula is an oriental woody fragrance designed for men that radiates class and elegance. With an explosion of fruity and citrus notes, it creates a vibrant and refreshing atmosphere that captivates the senses. As it develops, the accords of whisky and smoked wood fuse into a luxurious and spicy blend, triggering a feeling of confidence and opulence. Over time, a sweet touch of coffee softens the fragrance, creating a symphony of strong and expressive aromas. Inspired by the captivating A*Men Pure Malt by Mugler, Star Men Nebula is practically identical in terms of scent, allowing us to continue enjoying the essence of the original, even though it is no longer available on the market. A perfume that envelops the wearer in an aura of sophistication, leaving a lasting impression. On skin, it lasts for over 8 hours, and on clothes it can last almost all day. It projects up to two metres away during the first two hours, and then the trail gathers and remains moderate for several more hours. It is a dense fragrance that generates anosmia, so caution is recommended with the number of sprays. Star Men Nebula is sensational for night-time use and in cold climates. Perfect for special occasions, formal gatherings, outdoor events, and theatre outings. A masterpiece of elegance and sophistication that suits men who wish to stand out with class and style.

Inspired by Mugler’s A*Men Pure Malt, it smells virtually identical, so you can enjoy the original essence even if you can’t find it. Galactic Elixir > Galactic Intense > Star Nebula. Despite liking the A Men DNA, this fragrance does not stand out much. It lacks good projection and longevity. Waiting to see if it improves with maceration. There are better clones available.
Anyone wanting a remote idea of how the discontinued Pure Malt smelled has an acceptable option here for a quite reduced price. Now, as for the people who say it is identical to the Mugler perfume, an almost exact clone, etc., there are two possibilities: either they haven’t compared it side by side and have a very vague memory of what Pure Malt was, or their sense of smell is severely impaired. Another possibility is that it is the turn-of-the-century influencer trying to generate views without much regard. For them, everything is a 1:1 clone. Unlike many dupes, here Nebula resembles the original more at the opening, whereas once it settles, it differs almost completely; a somewhat flat dry-down dominated by that typical musky base found in Arab perfumes and lacking the characteristic DNA that all A*Men flankers possessed. The difference in quality between the two is considerable. I always say, it is very difficult to imitate the perfumes Thierry Mugler used to release. They had something differentiating them from the rest of the brands that made them so characteristic. If we forget about Pure Malt and value it as a 20€ perfume, it is a more than worthy proposal that will surprise many people given the particularity of its scent. But let’s put things in their proper place.
This is not an exact clone of Pure Malt; do not listen to reviewers who haven’t even smelled the Mugler one and claim they are identical. Nevertheless, it is a very rich scent, leaning more towards citrus and malt, but it is not gourmand and does not last even half as long as the original.
I haven’t had the fortune of trying the Mugler perfume that Star Men Nebula dupes, so I cannot make a comparison. However, Star Men Nebula has a rather synthetic aroma. Yes, it is a gourmand fragrance, very similar to Animale Animale. Sweet, creamy; I don’t smell any whisky, malt, or coffee, nor all those notes they love to add just to make it seem like a complex fragrance. I only perceive a cloying, synthetic, and slightly fruity scent that doesn’t project much and lasts around 4 to 5 hours.
STAR MEN NEBULA FRAGrance WORLD: As if it were Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, who, as usually happens, cannot match, let alone surpass, his father’s shadow. Something similar happens with this Star Men Nebula. Many admirers of the now-discontinued A* Men Pure Malt by Mugler have been looking for a dupe or clone, and our Arab friends have presented this fragrance. At first, it does indeed remind you of it, however, it gradually reveals its true colours. In its development, it loses its way, as if searching for Pure Malt, yet instead of finding it, it diverges further and further. It presents itself as a warm, fruity, and liquorish fragrance; to be fair, it doesn’t smell bad, but if you are looking for something faithful to Pure Malt, this is not it. If it reminds you of it, it gives an air of familiarity, but it remains very far from Mugler’s most iconic fragrance. For the price paid, you cannot regret it. I always use it at night, always formally, and even better when it’s cold. Performance is normal, projecting perceptibly for two hours, longer on clothes. To be frank, I consider it worth having for nostalgia and it will look good for a couple’s outing. Scent: 9.0. Projection normal for 2 hours. Longevity: 6 hours. Recommended.
It’s one of the few fragrances where I can actually distinguish most of the notes; it smells exactly as described. Lasts 10 hours or more with beastly projection, almost to the point of giving me a headache; three or four sprays are more than enough. Best used almost exclusively on autumn nights or early winter for semi-formal to formal occasions. Average quality, nothing standout. Conclusion: I wouldn’t recommend it for any age. Rating: 2/10.
It’s one of the few fragrances where the notes are distinct; it smells exactly as described. The longevity is ten hours or more and the projection is beastly, almost overwhelming; three or four sprays are too many. It’s almost exclusively for autumn or winter nights in semi-formal or formal situations. Average quality, nothing outstanding. Conclusion: I don’t recommend it for any age group. Rating: 2/10.
