Descripción
Starry Nights by Montale is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2015, the nose behind this composition is Pierre Montale. The top notes unfold with apple, bergamot and lemon; the heart reveals a harmony of rose, patchouli and jasmine; while the base notes settle on white musk, talc-like notes and amber.

Intense floral opening with rose predominance. As it dries on my skin, I only detect patchouli; the rose is very faint and I don’t perceive bergamot or jasmine. It lasts about 7 hours on the skin with a moderate trail; on clothes, I’d say around 8. If I consider it unisex, it’s mainly as it dries. It has a rare note noticeable in some strong Montales, which overwhelms the rose and is slightly unpleasant.
Sweet opening from the amber, with an intense rose and a distinct apple note over a musky, slightly dirty base. The patchouli doesn’t dominate; it adds its dirty touch but stays in the background. It’s playful, powdery, cheerful, sweet and potent. High and linear performance. Unisex. I like it. Although I’m not a fan of Montale releases, this one is worth trying. It’s versatile and should be avoided in very hot weather. It can be worn at night, though not for formal occasions. Its best setting is outdoors because it projects well; in enclosed spaces, you must be very careful with the sprays, keeping them to a minimum.
Powerful opening; with 6 sprays I nearly fainted. It smells very much like Club de Nuit for women, especially as it dries down. It’s rich, fresh and sweet, yet with a masculine touch. Fortunately, it doesn’t smell of talcum powder. While it lasts long on others, it fades quickly on my skin. Luckily, I bought the 20ml blind. I’ll enjoy it, and if it weren’t for the poor longevity on me, I’d buy it again without hesitation. Too bad it’s not so.
It starts strong with a rose, one of the most beautiful I’ve heard in a perfume. It moved me so much that it took me back to childhood at an aunt’s house where she cultivated open pink roses. This scent intensifies that feeling of mature flowers bathed in dew. It’s very beautiful; the floral sweetness isn’t feminine; I see it in both sexes without hesitation. In men, it adds personality and originality; in women, distinction and femininity (without being cheesy). After 20-30 minutes, the patchouli and woods take centre stage, very delicious and soft. Finally, the white musk closes the show. Its performance is very good, it projects even after 7 hours. I’ve received many compliments, it’s felt and envelops the wearer. *Before I had issues with the rose scent as it seemed vintage, but here it’s a very natural and youthful rose.*
It has a strong opening marked by the rose, one of the most beautiful I’ve been able to smell in a perfume. It thrilled me immensely because it took me back to childhood at an aunt’s house that cultivated beautiful, open pink roses; this perfume intensifies that feeling of open, mature roses bathed in dew. I consider it a very beautiful perfume; the sweetness of the flowers is not at all feminine. I can imagine this perfume for both sexes without hesitation. In men, it would add personality and originality, and in women, it becomes an aroma with distinction and femininity (don’t confuse femininity with sweetness or kitsch). After 20-30 minutes, patchouli and woods take the lead, very delicious and soft woods. In its final phases, white musk appears to say goodbye. Its performance is very good, projecting even after 7 hours. I’ve received many compliments; it’s felt and envelops the wearer. I had many reservations about the rose scent, as it usually seems vintage to me, but in Starry Night it’s a very natural and youthful rose.
It’s strong, guaranteed quality. With citrus notes, it’s all-rounder, suitable all year round. With 5 or 6 sprays you get at least 10 hours; if you put on 8, it’s too much, but it looks excellent at outdoor parties. Recommended? Yes, go ahead, it’s one of the most versatile from Montale.
An exotic bomb. I define Starry Nights as a delightfully fresh citrus-floral opening, followed by an acidic green apple, amber with a sweet touch, and a dirty musk that gives it character. It’s versatile, outrageously sexy, and unisex. Although it has roses and jasmine, a man can wear it without any issues. I don’t see it as formal, better for open spaces due to its great projection. It easily lasts 10 hours, and 4 sprays are more than enough. Excellent fragrance, I recommend trying it before buying.
An exotic bomb. That’s how I define Starry Nights: a super charming citrus-floral opening, followed by an acidic green apple, amber giving a slight sweet touch and the musk, something dirty, which gives it character. It’s versatile, outrageously sexy and unisex; although it has roses and jasmine, a man can wear it without problems. I don’t see it as formal; I think it gets more use in open places because it has very good projection. It lasts easily 10 hours, and 4 sprays are more than enough. Excellent fragrance, I recommend trying it before buying.
What a beast! It’s a super delicious atomic bomb, you must try it.
A blend of musk, patchouli, and roses. It’s versatile and unisex, although the performance is average. Montale and Mancera share DNA, sometimes with redundant notes, but here they change the olfactive pyramid. It recalls other wearable ouds like Aoud Lemon Mint or Wild Aoud. In the final phase, it smells like Tommy Impact due to the Akigalawood note. Unfortunately, batches from 2021 onwards are weaker; although it fixes well on skin and clothes, the projection is medium and the trail is soft. It lasts about 6-7 hours. Worth trying, it’s a pity about the reformulations; in 2015 it was a rose and musk bomb. Note: although they don’t say it here, it definitely has oud.
Very good scent, stand out for the combination of apple and powdery rose. In my opinion, it comes across as a unisex fragrance with good longevity and trail. It’s sexy and totally recommended for a night date and outdoor events. Versatile and casual.
The scent is incredible, standing out for the blend of apple and powdery rose. It’s clearly unisex, with good longevity and trail. It’s sexy, perfect for night dates or outdoor events. Versatile and casual.
A blend of musk, patchouli and roses. It’s versatile due to its aromatic profile and totally unisex, but with average performance. Montale and Mancera share the same DNA, ending in sometimes redundant combinations; they change the pyramid notes, add and remove elements, and finish with a new release. This profile reminds me of perfumes like Aoud Lemon Mint, Roses Vanille or Wild Aoud, wearable ouds that aren’t as sharp as stable-type ouds. As it dries, it brings memories of Tommy’s Impact, more so for its Akigalawood note that simulates Oud wood and has better performance. Too bad the batches from 2021 onwards are so weak; although it fixes on skin and clothes, the projection is medium and the trail soft to moderate. Approximate longevity of 6 to 7 hours. Definitely worth trying, what a pity about the reformulations; in 2015 it was a rose and musk bomb. Note: although I don’t declare it here, it definitely has oud.
I had it as a decant and didn’t like it; it’s too masculine.
I tried it as a decant and it didn’t convince me; I was left with the feeling that it’s too masculine.
Fills the room instantly. Just 3 sprays and you’re ready.
Very good fragrance, a bet for the new school. A not-too-deep rose, balanced citrus. Not buying blind isn’t for everyone; I see it as more masculine due to the bergamot and its potency. It’s for special occasions, but I still can’t recall the event where it would fit… I liked it but it’s not for everyday wear.
Top fragrance, a fresh gamble with roses that aren’t too dense and balanced citrus notes. Not for everyone, I find it more masculine due to the bergamot and its potency. Ideal for special occasions, though I still haven’t found the perfect day to wear it.
Smells amazing, it’s super unisex and projects a lot, but watch out: don’t go over 5 sprays, that’s the golden rule at Montale.
I don’t see any femininity in it; it’s a masculine perfume, very masculine.
Very eccentric, smells very much of rose and is very penetrating. It resembles Moschino Toy Boy. I didn’t like it; although it lasts quite a while, it made me feel dizzy.
Very eccentric; it smells strongly of rose and is penetrating, resembling Moschino Toy Boy. I didn’t like it; it lasts a lot but gave me a headache.
Feminine fragrance, exquisite. The opening reminded me very much of Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte, but the floral notes soon make their presence felt to remind us that, by some social standards, it’s more of a feminine composition than unisex. As it dries, it can be as talcy as the best fragrances from YSL or Dior.
It shares an opening with Dunhill Desire Red: green apple, rose, musk, and patchouli instead of vanilla. I recognised it immediately upon spraying. This Montale is of higher quality and feels slightly sweeter, with a honey touch. It’s unisex, leaning slightly towards masculine. It suits any occasion if there are close and controlled encounters, as the projection is moderate to low. For going out at night (not a club), with friends at home, or in the office for social events or Fridays. It has something that reminds me of Mancera Aoud Limon Mint, perhaps due to the patchouli, amber, and musk base. They seem made from the same base but are different, sharing only the base. It’s sexy on a man, striking and smells good. It didn’t blow my mind with the similarity to others, but it stands out and leaves a nice trail. It’s my first Montale and I can keep giving it opportunities.
Starry Night is very different from the usual. Gerson describes it perfectly: apple, rose, patchouli, and musk giving way to something talcy. It feels multipurpose, fresh and slightly sweet, bright yet warm, very interesting. The downside is that I sense a synthetic accord here that slightly hinders it, but nothing terrible. It’s linear with good performance, totally unisex and versatile. I like it quite a bit, to the point of considering buying it. I don’t think it’s the best Montale, but certainly one of the easiest to process and wear. Note: 8/10, tested from the discovery set.
Montale is my favourite house for now; delicious and unisex. I use it specifically at night; the longevity is incredible, lasting an entire day, and its trail is enormous.
It’s not unisex; it smells of pure rose, nothing else. It feels like a very potent rose bath.
It doesn’t smell unisex; it’s pure rose, feeling like a very potent rose bath.
Starry Nights by Montale begins with a beautiful citrus opening that captivates instantly. As it dries, it evolves into clean, cheerful rose and patchouli, with a slightly talcy touch. It’s very versatile, ideal for daytime and spring-summer weather. Its performance is excellent in longevity and projection, practical and reliable. Easy to recommend for its freshness, elegance, and ease of use. Without a doubt, one of Montale’s finest works.
I arrived late to this beauty. It’s the rose soap scent I’ve always wanted, but richer, highlighting the musk and amber which smell like solid honey. The patchouli gives it that precise masculine touch, with talc lingering in the background. The opening is spectacular with citrus and apple. The scent is exceptional and evokes memories. I bought a 2024 batch and the longevity was scarce, around four hours on skin; I suspect it has been reformulated. A pity that niche brands do this. Edit: after a month it improved, but its true potential is on clothes, lasting and projecting much more than on my skin. Now it’s officially a clothing perfume.
Potent opening with distinct pear and apple notes; it’s original and striking. I find it more masculine than feminine, making it a great different option for going out at night. The rose is beautifully crafted; a lovely fragrance with excellent performance.
