  I tried this recent Amouage creation at El Corte Inglés in Alicante and was pleasantly surprised. Experts claim the house has lost its identity over the last six years, but this fragrance doesn’t. Opus XI feels like an extension of Interlude Man, sharing that distinct smoky character. It smells of Moroccan leather and resinous notes, reminiscent of the leather goods sold at La Esplanada in Alicante. It’s a very specific scent. To truly appreciate it, you need to be familiar with oriental fragrances; otherwise, it might confuse. I recommend it wholeheartedly. As a devoted fan of orientals, I can testify that Opus XI is worth getting to know, at least trying. It’s ideal for evening wear and for autumn and winter. It performs decently in terms of longevity, projection, and sillage.

  I tested it on my skin alongside Opus VII, and by evening I barely remembered it. It was noticeable, yet said nothing: dispensable.

  Hehe, it smells exactly like Gucci Absolute… a blend of leather, varnish, and shoe polish. I absolutely love it because it’s totally different from what I usually wear.
