  I bought it hoping for something gourmand or sweet, but it’s the exact opposite. It smells of heavy amber, like older lady fragrances, and the other notes get lost. On the opening, there’s barely any vanilla and no sweetness. Once it settles, it becomes very powdery and loses its potency, leaving a very soft trail. It’s a serious, elegant scent, nothing youthful. I don’t like it on its own; it needs to be blended.

  It smells like plain vanilla ice cream to me; I don’t detect any amber at all. It’s fine if you want to use it as a base to add a sweet touch to another fragrance, but to be honest, I’d like it to last longer or have more projection.

  At first, the alcohol gives a shock, but once it dries, it smells like dessert. The trail is faint; you have to be right up against it to catch the scent. If you’re looking for pure vanilla, forget this one; here, caramel and sugar dominate everything.
