I would define it as a classic cologne with a modern twist. If you enjoy fougères, this is a very good purchase; it is not a direct copy from the 70s or 80s, but rather a classic DNA that has been modernised. It is not 100% original, yet strictly speaking, it does not smell like anything known. I absolutely love it for daytime wear in the office. It feels mature and shines particularly well in spring or summer.
An excellent proposal from the Solonoi house.
A fantastic fragrance for fougère lovers without feeling like you’ve been thrown back to 1970. The citrus notes evolve into woods without being like other proposals. Writing about perfumes is like dancing to the rhythm of a building, so I will use classic references: citrus akin to Dior’s Eau Sauvage, updated in the style of Neroli Portofino but less strident. Then there is the talc, reminiscent of Puig’s Brummel, that cheap one which for us mixes mustiness with cheapness; here it smells like shaving foam similar to YSL’s Rive Gauche. As for the woods, I get lost there because I have no references. It feels unique, with no aroma of anything popular. Very formal, traditional, without any gimmicks. Elegant, nothing strident. It goes like a charm for fougère friends; if you are looking for something less classic, look elsewhere. To summarise: it has nothing to do with YSL’s Rive Gauche from the Tom Ford era, but it could certainly replace it.
