I’m stepping back slightly from the 80s to talk about a fragrance that truly embodies me, the first from Valentino. It reminds me enormously of Creed’s Fleurissimo (in fact, it’s practically identical); it’s a pity this Valentino isn’t so easy to find, as it would be brilliant to have Fleurissimo’s same beauty at such a low price. A splendid floral on par with Diorissimo, of first quality, so natural and elegant. Perhaps even fresher and more vibrant than Diorissimo, which tends to be beautiful but slightly heavier. The most relevant aspect of its composition is the narcotic note of lily of the valley, blended with violet and some juicy green notes (which sometimes lean more herbal), a triangle of absolute perfection. (Lily of the valley-Violet-Green notes) Moss and basil blend together very deep down, wrapped in a halo of shy citrus, providing the final touch to close the fragrance and make it even more interesting. They might be notes that are barely felt, but their presence is radical in the composition. As for Hyacinth, it’s surely present, but I feel it lost and overshadowed by the strength of the lily of the valley, the green tones, and the violet. I can’t praise a fragrance so highly if it reminds me of another, but I still can’t stop liking something that correlates with what I already love. I should compare the two fragrances (Fleurissimo-Valentino) to see which I prefer, something I can’t do right now, but soon I will give you my verdict. A dreamlike floral, which doesn’t aim to be intoxicating or weak, and lingers on the skin without being too noticeable.
