  • I don’t know Oriana to judge the similarity. I’d say this has a decent quality-to-price ratio; it’s noticeable floral and marshmallow, but I got the impression it has very fair performance, especially for the type of scent it is, which seems more festive and nocturnal.

  • If you want the Barbie x Zara perfume, try this one; they are almost identical, though this is softer while the Barbie scent is sweeter and fruitier. In the dry-down, they are practically indistinguishable. Both remind me of Love Don’t Be Shy (not in the opening).

  • A very pleasant, sweet and fresh perfume. At first, it smells strongly of alcohol; you have to wait for it to settle. Once it has been on the skin for a few seconds, I can perfectly detect the marshmallow and bergamot. When it has fully settled, it smells sweet without being gourmand, with a very pleasant orangey touch that gives it that citrus note. The longevity is rather poor, lasting about two and a half hours on the skin, and the sillage is not great either. It reminds me a little of Oriana and Love Don’t Be Shy, though only to 75%. Rating: 7.

  • It arrived recently; I was eager to have it, but I don’t like its opening 🫣. I sold it to my friend and it smells superb on her. I feel like buying it again, but the small size, hehe.

  • Very pleasant, sweet and fresh. It smells strongly of alcohol at first; you have to wait for it to settle. A few seconds on the skin and I can already detect the marshmallow and bergamot. In the dry-down, it remains sweet without being gourmand, with an orangey touch that adds freshness. The longevity is poor, lasting around two and a half hours on the skin with little sillage. It reminds me about 75% of Oriana and Love Don’t Be Shy. Rating: 7.

  • Vanilla, musk, rose, caramel, and orange blossom like the LDBS by Kilian. But with cotton candy like Aquolina and other feminine and sweet notes shared with Angel by Mugler. It’s youthful, innocent, and cheerful without trying to be elegant or sensual. It came with me purely for fun. It has the drying-down vibe of Dolce&Gabbana, and that last one is a perfume I’m fascinated by and is indeed elegant. Velvet Shadow is the one I’ve liked most from this new Zara collection. Of course, these are personal tastes.

  • If you were left wanting to get the Barbie x Zara perfume, try this one; they are practically identical, although the opening of this is softer, while the Barbie one is sweeter and fruitier. But in the dry-down, they are practically the same. In the dry-down, they both remind me of Love Don’t Be Shy (not in its opening).

  • Vanilla, musk, rose, caramel and orange blossom, similar to Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy. However, it features cotton candy notes like Aquolina, along with other feminine and sweet notes shared with Mugler’s Angel. It is youthful, innocent and cheerful, without aiming to be elegant or sensual. I wore it purely for fun. It has the vibe of Dolce & Gabbana’s Velvet Shadow, a perfume I find fascinating and elegant. Velvet Shadow is the best in Zara’s new collection. These are personal tastes.

  • It’s exactly what I wanted to smell when I tried Memo-Sintra; it’s divine! It smells like a luxury perfume.

  • On the opening, it reminds me hugely of that orange from Hidden, intense and very noticeable, unlike the BS which feels like a bonbon within minutes and stays that way. It’s not a novel scent but it smells rich up to that point. That mandarin opening seems very strident and I’d say it’s clearly a sweet citrus aroma. Perhaps it would work well layered with a pure vanilla scent.

  • MissPennyLane

Smells like a strawberry sweet with a tangy twist; it’s soft and delicate. It projects almost nothing and doesn’t last more than two hours on skin or clothes. Buying it at the original price isn’t worth it, although it is worth it during mega sales. I use it for the gym or after a shower.

  • It does not smell as gourmand as its name suggests. I detect the mandarin as if dusted with sugar over vanilla, although I cannot perfectly distinguish that marshmallow note. Afterwards, it circles back to the previous dessert with some floral accents. It is soft, subtle and delicate. I apply about 15 or 20 sprays (may the first stone be thrown at anyone who has ever overapplied perfume), and then it does last all day. Slight sillage and projection, but decent for the price.

  • It doesn’t smell as gourmand as its name suggests. I detect dusted mandarin with sugar over vanilla, though I can’t quite distinguish the marshmallow. Then it turns into a dessert table with a hint of flowers. It’s very soft, subtle, and delicate. I apply about 15 or 20 sprays (see who throws the first stone if we’ve never overapplied before), and that’s when it finally lasts all day. Low sillage and projection, but decent for the price.

  • It resembles Oriana, that same line but without copying it word for word. It’s like a lighter version, super soft. It opens citrusy, sweet, and very clean. Ideal for refreshing yourself on summer evenings or for purists. I’m still waiting to see how it dries down and how long it lasts before editing. On my skin, it lasts a breath; I hope it’s different on yours. If you’re looking for something with more potency and longevity, try Maison Alambra’s Reyna. I’ll use Velvet Shadow on hot days, either at home or straight after a shower.

  • It resembles Oriana, that same line but without copying it verbatim. It is like a light version, super soft. It begins with citrus notes; it is a delicate, sweet and very clean perfume. Refreshing and perfect for summer evenings. Ideal for those who are particular about scents. I await to see how it dries and how long it lasts before updating. On my skin, it barely lasts a moment; I hope it performs differently on yours. If you are looking for this profile, try Maison Alambra’s Reyna, which lasts longer with more potency and nuances. I will keep Velvet Shadow for hot days, for staying at home or straight after a shower.
