  • Aurorakmz

Smells like a real Barbie, just like opening a brand-new doll. You get that citrusy touch at the start, with the powdery rose and vanilla very prominent. As it settles, it sweetens, with the vanilla and a hint of orange blossom dominating. It’s delicate and sweet; I loved it. Lasts about 6 hours with a moderate sillage, without being overpowering.

  • It’s very similar to Rose Marshmallow Candy but not identical. Very feminine, with medium projection and excellent longevity; I could still smell it even after showering. Smells like vanilla with powdery, creamy rose.

Smells like a real Barbie, just like opening a brand-new doll. It starts with a citrusy touch, highlighting the powdery rose and vanilla. As it settles, it sweetens further, with the vanilla and a hint of orange blossom taking the lead. It’s a delicate, sweet fragrance that I absolutely adore. Lasts about 6 hours with a moderate sillage, without being overpowering.

  • I don’t like writing negative reviews out of respect for the perfumer, but the opening and development are insultingly synthetic… perhaps that was the purpose. In its defence, I say it calms down, sweetens, and becomes pleasant in the dry-down, but until that moment, it’s better not to bring the nose close to the spray.

What a beautiful fragrance! The vanilla and orange blossom really shine. It has a slightly powdery touch, like luxury makeup. Wearing it is very comforting, and on my skin it lasts over 7 hours. For a Zara product, I find it incredibly long-lasting.

  • To my nose, the resemblance to Oriana and Love Don’t Be Shy exists but it’s not a carbon copy; it feels more synthetic and light. It’s a masterful recreation of my idea of Barbie: it starts with lots of neroli, soon accompanied by a powdery rose and orange blossom. These flowers float in a plastic, sticky sea, certainly pink. Closing my eyes, I almost imagine playing with my dolls in my childhood room. The vanilla and tonka bean base closes with sweetness, but it’s wearable in any season thanks to the floral acidity. I wore it yesterday at 37 degrees and it didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. The trail is moderate and the duration about 8-9 hours in summer after generous application. It’s an informal and cheerful perfume that I’ve really liked and has good performance. I don’t think it’s for everyday use because it can get tiring, but on the occasions I’ve worn it, I’ve enjoyed it. I’ll use it on those days I want to escape to a perfect world and feel a bit like Barbie. Scent 7/10, Duration 8.5/10, Trail 7.5/10, Value for money 8/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? Probably, although it’s a limited edition.

  • -HI BARBIE! 🎀🎀🎀🎀 -HI BARBIE!… Launched strategically days before the film’s premiere, Zara’s homonymous perfume added to the most impactful marketing phenomenon of 2023. At €19.95, it sold out in hours, becoming an object of desire for its pink packaging and the ‘Barbiecore’ frenzy. Beyond the wrapping, what do we find? A scent that, without being a masterpiece, accurately evokes the world of new dolls, cotton candy, and that girly sweet touch but not cloying. The opening is citrusy and sparkling, adding lightness that refreshes and avoids the ultra-synthetic. As it evolves, vanilla and tonka bean emerge, enveloping you in a cloud of soft marshmallows. The curious thing is that, despite the price, it doesn’t smell ‘cheap’, but rather a light and accessible version of certain gourmands. How about longevity? More than correct. I wore it for the entire projection of Oppenheimer (almost three hours) and it was still perceptible in soft puffs. Don’t expect a sugar bomb; it’s for joining the Barbiecore without getting stuffed with pink. 🎀 *It’s not the same as Zara’s Marshmallow Addiction; I notice the latter is more synthetic and ‘fruity’ (I like Barbie much more). *Edited Dec 2023: ‘Forbidden Pink’ arrives at Zara and is indeed identical to Barbie. *Jan 2024: It returns at Zara Kids for €7.95.*

  • Smells like a brand-new Barbie doll straight out of the box. I think they tried to emulate that scent rather than copying niche fragrances. It has a fresh, sweet opening without being overwhelming. The sweetness accompanies the entire development, very noticeable in the first hour. By 4-5 hours, it sits closer to the skin, ideal for personal wear without much projection. In the dry-down, it smells very vanilla and powdery; synthetic but lovely, reminding me of the vinyl of old Barbies or the dusty feel of a marshmallow. If you’re nostalgic and want to feel that new doll again, it’s recommended. But don’t expect exceptional performance. After smelling Oriana and Love don’t be shy, I’d say the dry-down is identical to the latter.

  • It smells like a brand-new Barbie doll taken out of the box. My opinion is that they’ve tried to emulate that aroma rather than copying niche fragrances. It has a fresh and sweet opening without being overwhelming. The sweetness accompanies the entire development, very noticeable for the first hour; at 4-5 hours it stays closer to the skin, so I see it as personal enjoyment without much projection. In the dry-down, it smells very vanilla and powdery; synthetic, but not negatively so, reminding me of old Barbie vinyl or the cloud of cotton candy. If you’re nostalgic and want to feel that new doll scent again, I recommend it, but don’t expect exceptional performance. After smelling Oriana and Love Don’t Be Shy, I say the dry-down is identical to the latter.

  • I bought it blindly because I finally got hold of it at Zara. Bear in mind, I had a huge love for brand-new Barbies; the smell was so rich I’d keep the box just to revive it. When I put on the perfume… oh my god! It couldn’t be better. It captures that memory and feeling perfectly, making me feel like me with the scent of Barbie. I recommend it 109% blindly! 💕

  • I bought it blind because I finally found it at Zara. I used to love the smell of brand-new Barbies so much that I kept the wrapping. When I tried it… oh my god! It couldn’t be made better to capture that memory, that feeling, and to smell like Barbie. I recommend it 109% blind! 💕

  • Mitafragance

True, it’s a bit synthetic, but after all, it’s called Barbie, which isn’t exactly the champion of natural scents 😅. A very feminine and youthful fragrance; I use it almost as a body mist. It’s pleasant and dry with a sweetness that isn’t overwhelming. It recalls Zara’s Rose Marshmallow Candy and a bit of Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy. With Zara, if I like a scent, I have no complaints about projection or longevity, goodness, they’re great value; nevertheless, it hasn’t disappointed me in this regard either.

  • Satine.noir

I bought it and thought I’d get used to the scent, but upon receiving it, I felt I already knew something similar (though not identical). Yes, it resembles a fragrance I own, although this is more citrusy while the other is sweeter. It reminds me a bit of Maison Alhambra’s Reyna and also Dolce & Gabbana’s Pour Femme. It’s a pretty fragrance and I think I could even gift it to a girl or teenager because it’s sweet, citrusy, and soft. Regarding performance, others from this brand have stood out, such as the ultra-hyped Chapter line. But for the price, I really don’t feel it’s a bad option; it’s pretty, pleasant, nothing challenging, nothing daring or formal.

  • Delicious. I liked it. I tested the new children’s version from Zara (it comes in a different 60ml bottle) and preferred this one; I feel it’s more floral: neroli with orange blossom that then turns sweet but in just the right dose. Girls, if you want a perfume that literally smells like Barbie, this isn’t it; the one that comes closest is Stella McCartney’s Pop, which smells like new Barbie—I even got a whiff while travelling.

  • BeatrizBlackwood

I couldn’t find the children’s version, so I bought this instead: a small bottle with a heart-shaped cap and the Barbie B engraved on it. Despite its lack of depth, it lasts about four hours and is pleasant; I wore it at 36°C. I tried Oriana and see it as more suitable for a fresh spring, much like its Arab inspirations.

  • I already owned Stella McCartney’s Pop, so my expectations were sky-high, haha. It doesn’t smell like Barbie, unlike the orange flanker which reminded me of tropical Barbie. It’s pleasant but barely noticeable, very soft and fleeting. It’s gorgeous for a princess; if it resembles Marshmallow Candy, this is more youthful because the other has vintage talc and that plasticine vibe, whereas this isn’t fresh or cheerful like this pink Barbie. I adore the neroli, but the performance held me back from buying it. Perhaps when I can smell it better (I don’t know how).
