  This fragrance is truly special and complex. While it recalls the ‘cherries’ mentioned earlier, it is never identical to any other. Velvet Swan offers something distinct: not the brash red cherry of Lost Cherry nor the leather-infused cherry of Black Perfecto, but rather a deep, dark cherry (like Morello or Italian) in a unique blend. On the first spray, there’s a musky note mingling with that cherry, followed within seconds by a rich, powdery, immaculate, and divine sandalwood. The cashmere is barely noticeable, which I appreciate as it can dominate too much in other formulas and I dislike that effect. The floral ylang-ylang side is definitely present and magnificent on my skin. The caramel doesn’t over-sweeten, and the almond milk is beautifully diffused; it lacks the rancid almond or lactonic scent found in Italica Xerjoff, which never fully won me over. It’s potent, long-lasting, and perfect for evening wear. An ultra-sensual fragrance I’d use all year round, especially in cooler months.
