What About Pop by The House of Oud is an oriental vanilla fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Cristian Calabro. The top notes reveal a sweet and surprising play of popcorn, caramel, and hawthorn blossom. The heart unfolds with creaminess thanks to whipped cream, Madagascar vanilla, and night-blooming cereus. What About Pop is a hilarious perfume. If you can’t handle even a whiff of salty scents, stay away, because the opening is a slap of popcorn with butter, salt, and caramel that lasts about 15 minutes. After the popcorn session, the creamy part emerges, slightly floral with a woody base that makes it more mature. An addictive scent, nothing dark, very trendy, perfect for dinners with friends or informal parties, very pleasant. Its salty aspect is felt until it fades, and I find it perfectly unisex. Decent longevity, average projection. The bottle is dreamy but the price is too… Still, I would buy it. I’ll put it on my future shopping list. I’ve loved it immensely, perhaps for Black Friday.

OMG! What a delicious gourmand! I love perfumes with a pinch of salt, and it’s noticeable here. What About Pop opens with a realistic caramel and popcorn accord that becomes saltier as it develops into a pleasant amber note. Then white flowers and creamy vanilla emerge, slightly lactonic due to the cream. The dry down is resinous, salty, with animalic, woody, and musky nuances. They described it perfectly: fun, sweet, and different. Ideal for autumn/winter, unisex. Low sillage and moderate longevity. I would love to see Sol de Janeiro body mists in physical stores; I don’t want to buy blindly. In summary, an interesting gourmand, better than generic sugar bombs. Recommended for anyone wanting a salty popcorn session.
It’s my 3rd favourite for the opening, but that popcorn and caramel smell disappears after 20 minutes, leaving a soft, skin-close vanilla that’s almost imperceptible. Total disappointment given the high price.

What About Pop by THOO is a glorious, unique, and magical gourmand that leaves a mark. It transports me to a world of sweetness and texture, just like salty and sweet popcorn. At first, I thought of a milk coffee loaded with syrups, but as it dries, it becomes an unmistakable and exquisite popcorn aroma. Fascinating evolution and a solid recommendation for genre lovers; a hidden gem of the niche.
Unbearable on my nose… I’m sorry. This leads me to conclude that popcorn scent isn’t for me. Every time I smell something with that note, I dislike it, and on top of that, it’s mixed with caramel, another note that isn’t very friendly to me… and together, glory be! Eww! I can’t stand it even from a distance.
