Descripción
With Love by Hilary Duff is a spiced oriental fragrance for women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Stephen Nilsen. In its opening, spices and mangosteen take the first step; the heart reveals cocobolo wood and mangosteen flower; while the base settles with amber and musk.

It smells of coconut and vanilla to the max, very Caribbean and potent. The longevity and trail are brutal; I love it.
The bottle caught my eye; it’s very pretty, but when I smelled the aroma… it was like being about to eat a half-melted caramel. Truth be told, it’s a very particular perfume that I didn’t like.
It’s powdery coconut and mango wood, a scent unlike any other. It’s one of those love-it-or-hate-it perfumes… my cousin wears it and I like it; it has excellent longevity and trail… very feminine for women who appreciate gourmet tropical scents.
I’d define it more as a fruity floral than a spiced oriental. Sweet mango predominates with a hint of orchid-like florals, even though it’s not listed on the notes. It’s a romantic, light, and non-intrusive fragrance that works very well both day and night.
I’d define it more as a fruity floral than a spiced oriental. Sweet mango predominates with a touch of orchid-like florals, although it doesn’t appear in the composition. It’s romantic, light, and non-intrusive. It works perfectly day and night.
I’ve always loved Hilary, so when I heard she was launching a perfume, I was dying to try it. It didn’t disappoint; it was far better than expected. I imagined something generic for the masses, but it turns out to be exclusive, refined, and different. It opens with spices and wood, followed by a tropical touch. On the skin, it evolves with coconut, vanilla, mango, and wood. It’s one of my favourites; I went through two large bottles and still miss it. It’s not for everyone; you have to try it before buying blindly. Longevity and trail are average to good, but it evaporates in direct sunlight. I recommend it for evening wear or cooler climates.
A decent little perfume. It’s been out of catalogue for years, but my partner used to wear it and I loved catching its trail: sweet, not sickly, with that powdery note that feels refreshing. I wanted to buy it myself, but I can’t find it in shops anymore. It’s good, pretty, and cheap. Perfect for everyday wear: you won’t wow anyone, but you’ll always smell nice without spending a fortune.
A decent little perfume. It’s been out for years; my roommate used it and I loved catching its trail: sweet but not overpowering, powdery yet fresh. I wanted it for myself, but I can’t find it anymore. It’s good, pretty, and cheap. Ideal for daily wear: you don’t make a huge impression, but you smell great without spending much.
Fine and sweet, with a hint of coconut, this perfume is very rich and elegant, definitely one of my favourites. It’s not that classic sweet scent that would tire you out, like what happened to me with Paris Hilton’s Can Can. For night or day, a little on the skin will be more than enough. It’s a pity it’s hard to get hold of, as they’re almost no longer sold. These are scents that shouldn’t disappear. I recommend it widely.
I used to wear it as my signature scent; I don’t know why it smelled of vanilla to me, and I’m surprised it’s not an official note; this perfume has something very special.
I used to wear this as my personal perfume, I don’t know why it smelled of vanilla to me and I’m surprised it’s not one of its notes, it has something very special.
Mango, mango and more mango. In my opinion it’s floral-fruity; mango dominates everything, and when I apply it I notice some flower, but I can’t say which one. It’s a good perfume but I don’t consider it extraordinary… however I like it! It’s for women aged 20 to 50 (in my judgement) and can be worn daily. The bottle is very chic and feminine, very pretty. It has a medium-heavy trail and heavy longevity. I give it an 8/10.
A very common scent, it tells me nothing, I won’t be buying it again. Mango and spices dominate at first, but on my skin nothing stands out.
Very common scent, doesn’t even appeal to me. I wouldn’t buy it again. At first it smells of mango and spices, but on my skin it makes no impression; everything fades away.
With Love overshadows Hidden Fantasy and Diamonds and Rubies as a hidden gem in modern perfumery (remember that Diamonds and Rubies is by Sophia Grojsman, who created Tresor and Paris, while With Love and Hidden Fantasy are by Rodrigo Flores-Roux, a genius who has worked for Dolce&Gabbana and Tom Ford… in lines theoretically considered niche). It’s a spiced oriental with a brutal tropical contrast thanks to the mango. It starts with fresh, sweet, yet spicy and dry mango. Then, the spiced essence gives way to the tropical sweetness of the mango, which momentarily eclipses the cocobolo (which has that drinkable coconut hint that explains the coconut aroma in other reviews). Finally, it’s purely woody with a warm, sweet touch from the amber and mango blossom (I didn’t detect musk on my skin). It’s discontinued, and nowadays few know Hilary Duff, but it’s a versatile option, less ostentatious and better balanced than several proposals from major houses (like any derivative of Miss Dior New). Despite the name, I don’t see it as romantic (perhaps due to the creative effort), and although the packaging is colourful, its appeal has presence. By the way, in the intermediate phase on my skin, I noticed a strange hint of Fanta. It has the spiced signature of its creator; it’s not the most sophisticated, but it has conceptual maturity and harmony. Obtaining it is difficult as it’s discontinued, but if you get the chance, try it without fear. Longevity is wide, the trail is moderate to low, but it will never be cloying.
With Love competes against Britney Spears’ Hidden Fantasy and Elizabeth Taylor’s Diamonds and Rubies as undervalued celebrity fragrances (Diamonds and Rubies was created by Sophia Grojsman, who also created Tresor by Lancôme and Paris by Yves Saint Laurent, while With Love and Hidden Fantasy are the work of Rodrigo Flores-Roux, who has worked for Dolce&Gabbana and Tom Ford… in lines theoretically of niche). With Love is a spiced oriental with a huge tropical contrast from the mango note. It starts with fresh, sweet mango, but spicy and dry from the spices. Then, the spiced essence gives way to the hegemony of the tropical sweetness of the mango which will momentarily eclipse the cocobolo wood (it has a hint of coconut drink, which explains the coconut aroma in other reviews). In the end, it is purely woody with a warm, sweet touch from the residues of amber and the mango flower (in my experience I didn’t notice musk). With Love is discontinued; for recent buyers, knowledge about Hilary Duff will also be scarce. It’s a versatile option, less ostentatious and better balanced than several proposals from design houses (like any derivative of Miss Dior New by Christian Dior). Despite its name, I personally don’t see it as romantic (though perhaps it appeals to the effort of creation), and although it contrasts with the colourful packaging of its range, its charm has presence. In the intermediate phase, on my skin it developed a rare hint of Fanta. With Love has the spiced signature of its creator; although it’s not the most sophisticated fragrance, it also lacks maturity. Obtaining it is complex as it’s discontinued, but if you have the opportunity, try it without fear. Longevity is good and the trail is moderate to low, but it won’t cloy anyone.
With Love… exclusive and spicy. I bought it for my wife, it smells of mango and pepper.
Horrible… for me it’s a bad combination. Instantly it gives me a headache; it smells like mango with chilli.
I adore it! It’s a tropical and sweet perfume, you can tell it’s spiced, perfect for summer.
I’ve finally got my hands on this perfume again after years of it being discontinued. On clothes, the fruit and wood stand out, but on my skin it leaves that spicy hint of spices. I was once a fan of Hilary Duff and thought that was why I loved it, but after so long without smelling it, it’s an elegant daytime scent, ideal for summer or autumn. Mind you, it’s nothing like ‘mango with chilli’; the mangosteen resembles lychee and combined with the spices it’s very tropical, sweet and juicy. The trail doesn’t last as long as it used to.
I’ve managed to get it again after years of it being discontinued. On clothes, it smells more of fruit and wood, while on the skin it leaves that spicy spice aroma. I was once a huge fan of Hilary Duff and thought that was why I loved it, but after so many years without smelling it, it now sounds like an elegant daytime perfume, ideal for summer or autumn. That said, it has nothing to do with ‘chili mango’; the mangosteen resembles a litchi, and combined with the spices, it feels very tropical, sweet, juicy, and warm. The trail doesn’t last as long as it used to for me.
My all-time favourite fragrance! It is indeed a blend of vanilla, tropical and oriental notes. I’ve only noticed something similar in the tropical aspect with Escada’s Born in Paradise. I’d love to know what you recommend that’s alike! Thanks.
