A complex fragrance! The first time I tried it in winter, with the biting cold, it evaporated from my skin too quickly for me to analyse it properly. In spring, I finally understood it as a spiced opening, slightly intoxicating with a mentholated touch, as if carrying a hint of liquor that isn’t actually there. Seconds later, the oud emerges—woody yet wearable—followed by frankincense and then leather. The peach and caramel add a sweetness (without being sweet at all) and a joviality that prevents it from being harsh or irredeemably masculine, though I still see it more on a man. As it dries down, I still sense that fruity liquor with a smoky feel from the frankincense; alongside the oud and leather, it moves far away from church incense to evoke a night out, drinks and cigarettes, like the scent lingering on the clothes of someone who has been near a smoker. I’m not a fan of that particular smell, but it intrigues me, evoking danger… and most of the time, danger turns out to be tempting.
A decent unisex fragrance with a feminine touch. It opens very spiced with saffron and pink pepper, blended with oud and peach. Soon, leather and a caramelised base emerge. The oud is more woody than animalic, though it has a slight, non-exaggerated ‘faecal’ scratchiness. The saffron settles and then becomes linear. It doesn’t evolve in distinct phases but has many nuances; if you’re looking for the leather or peach notes, they are there. It’s a crisp fragrance where the ingredients are well-isolated. Longevity and performance are good, especially in the first few hours. I wear it in any weather except extreme heat, suitable for day or night. I’ve liked it, but the peach note sounds a bit feminine to me. The ingredients are high quality and it’s very well made, although the high price doesn’t appeal to me anymore.
