  • Exceptional work defined by a very refined, elegant and wonderfully smoky sandalwood. Its virtue lies in escaping those ‘creamy’ sandalwoods and venturing into a more artistic, green and oriental territory. Fantastic wooden-style perfume.

  • Of the rescuable things in the ‘Join The Club’ line. This line shows different themes depending on the perfume and in Ivory Route it refers to people who travel. Ivory Route is a non-creamy, spiced sandalwood with a slight green tone at the base. It doesn’t have much development, good quality, linear and unisex. Easy to use. I think it’s one of the rescuable ones from this line (being the best and with much More than Words). Others are really crying out for help and as synthetic as possible, such as: Marquee, Birdie, Shunkoin and Ascot Moon. Is Ivory Route worth it? It depends. If you are a fan of sandalwood and see it at a good price, go ahead. However, if you have lots of experience in niche with perfumes of another level, it probably won’t catch your eye and you’d prefer to spend this money on something more special. Good perfume, worth smelling.

Potent spices with vanilla, sandalwood, and a touch reminiscent of liquor. It could be Amouage but easier to wear and for a wider audience. It is very good, but in the niche world and at that price point, it does not seem impressive to me. The projection is very scarce, almost non-existent, and the longevity is decent but only noticeable if you have your nose right up against the skin. There are countless more special fragrances with better performance at lower prices if you look a little in the niche market.

Powerful spices with vanilla tones, sandalwood and I’d say even some kind of ‘liqueur’ reminiscence. It could be an Amouage scent, but easier to smell, for a wider audience. Very good, but nothing impressive in a niche and high-price context. I have to say the projection is scarce, very scarce… a decent longevity… but with the nose right on the skin or it’s not smelled. For me, there are countless more special fragrances with better performance at lower prices when one browses the niche market a bit.

Ivory Route takes you on a route inspired by travel and adventure. The JTC notes are elevated, so do not just focus on the official pyramid. The opening is fresh, strong, and balsamic: a dazzling mix of spices (cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, pepper, and above all cinnamon), with touches of pipe tobacco, basil, an alcoholic accord, and chai tea. Everything rests on a base of delicious vanilla. Over time, the spices soften against the skin and the vanilla becomes deep and enveloping. It dries out woody, powdery, and balsamic, with earthy patchouli, smoky incense, creamy sandalwood, and amber vanilla. It is fresh and warm, sweet and spicy, wild and addictive, like an exotic route through India or Istanbul. It can be strong at first for some women and more feminine when dried for some men; for me, it is unisex. The trail is medium and then stays closer, not very striking but stands out in intimate settings. It complimented me at dinner. Longevity is medium (6 hours on my skin is a lot). Sometimes it gives bursts when it is no longer on the skin, ghost fragrance? It gives air to Ani by Nishane and its trail reminds me of Noir Pour Femme. If you like those, you will probably like this one. Ivory Route performs better on my skin than the other two, which is why I bought it. Perhaps it is suited for a woman of 26, but I do not mind; I feel comfortable wearing it on cool nights. It could be me in a bottle and it is my favourite from Xerjoff.

Ivory Route is a fragrance that takes you on a route, inspired by travel and adventure. The notes of the JTC line are elevated, so don’t let yourself be guided only by the pyramid. It deserves more reviews, so here is mine: The opening is fresh and very strong, very balsamic. It opens with a dazzling medley of spices: cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, pepper and above all cinnamon. You perceive pipe tobacco, basil, an alcoholic accord and something similar to chai tea. All the notes, combined perfectly, rest on a delicious vanilla base. Over time, the spices soften, blending with the skin and the vanilla becomes deeper and softer, enveloping you in its warm mantle. Dries woody, powdery and balsamic, with an earthy patchouli, smoky incense, creamy sandalwood and a comforting amber vanilla. It’s fresh and warm. Sweet and spicy. Wild, enveloping, dry, addictive, healing, burning. An exotic route through India or Istanbul. It can be very strong (the first hour) for some women and slightly feminine (the dry down) for some men. For me, unisex. Medium trail and then it stays closer; it’s not very striking but stands out in intimate settings. It complimented me at dinner. Medium longevity (6 hours on my skin is a lot). Sometimes a burst reaches me when it’s no longer on the skin, ghost perfume? It has an air of Ani by Nishane and the trail it leaves when worn on skin reminds me of Noir Pour Femme. If you like either of those, you’ll probably like this. Ivory Route has better performance on my skin than the other two, which is why I decided to buy the bottle. Perhaps a bit mature for a 26-year-old woman, but I don’t care, I feel very comfortable wearing it on cool nights. It could be ME in a bottle and it’s my favourite of Xerjoff.

  • It has a balsamic opening that disappears in 5 minutes. I note the woods from 40 knots (they do not declare sandalwood here, but I note that creaminess just like in the other) and a cardamom or spices very much like African Leather. AL and Ivory are very similar at 30 minutes, and the truth is that as a scent I prefer Ivory, although I notice the trail and projection more in AL. It is a difficult choice, but it is a scent worth considering if you are looking for elegance.

  • It has a balsamic opening that fades in 5 minutes. At 40 knots I notice the woods (although they don’t say sandalwood, that creaminess is the same in both) and a cardamom or spices very much like African Leather. At 30 minutes it becomes very similar to Ivory by JTC and the truth is I like the Ivory more as an aroma, although I notice the trail and projection more in AL. A difficult choice, but it’s a scent worth considering if you seek elegance.

  • IVORY ROUTE XERJOFF: Undoubtedly one of the most complex fragrances I’ve tried. A sparkling and refreshing opening that, like a chameleon, completely changes skin, colour and form towards a beautiful garden full of woods (sandalwood), exotic flowers and lots of grass. The spices, the patchouli and, above all, the sandalwood with a masterfully smoky impression make it an emotional and romantic composition. It’s an ultra-sensory madness, original, striking, refined and authentic. Every time I try it there’s something new. Sweet but not sweet… fresh but luminous… neat, beautiful, lucid, bold, magnificent, audacious and authentic. For me, totally unisex; I’d love to see it on a woman, but it’s subjective. Scent: 10. Projection: very good. Longevity: 8 hours. Test before buying. Recommended, I insist on my particular taste for women who want to match their beauty with their scent.

Ivory Route is a complex beast: it starts sparkling and refreshing, but instantly transforms like a chameleon into a magical garden of woods, exotic florals, and herbs. The sandalwood is masterfully smoky, creating a blend full of emotion and romance. It is ultra-sensory, original and striking, yet refined at the same time. Every time I try it, I find something new; it is sweet without being so, fresh and luminous, neat and bold. For me, it is totally unisex; I would love to see it on a woman, even if it is my personal taste. Scent: 10. Projection: very good. Longevity: 8 hours. Try it before buying; it is recommended for women who want their scent to stand out as much as their beauty.

I love it! It was a blind buy and although I do not recommend it, I adored it. It exceeded my expectations. The trail reminds me a bit of the discontinued Midnight Poison by Dior. Not a copy or anything, just in the same line.

  • Ivory Route is a complex fragrance that leaves no one indifferent. The secret lies in its spicy notes, which the house Xerjoff doesn’t specify. It opens with a spiced citrus and green note (like in the Join the Club series), accompanied by an elegant woody sandalwood that will form the base. Throughout the evolution, alternating nuances emerge. Finally, a welcoming vanilla note, tolerably sweet and not reaching festival levels, closes the scent. Good performance, between 8 and 10 hours, provided you avoid temperatures below 12°C or above 30°C. Very versatile; everyone decides when to wear it, although I totally advise against it for sports with physical activity. As always, test on your own skin before buying niche.

  • Pachuli, pachuli and more pachuli, with a sweet sandalwood, nothing smoky. Very rich, but it smells like many masculine perfumes with pachuli, a note so invasive that in the end it just smells of pachuli. I prefer PACHULI LEAVES by Montale, which projects and lasts much longer.

  • Ivory Route, the great forgotten gem of Xerjoff. Without the hype, it deserves more love. It opens spicy, strong and dry, with real character. For spice lovers, it’s a hidden treasure. I adore the sensation: you’re thrown straight into the East, India, a spice market. It has something mysterious; perhaps the most mysterious scent in my collection. Warm, peppery and it evolves pleasantly. The spicy top notes settle down and the sandalwood grounds, but it’s not creamy or lactonic; it’s dry, woody, with that spicy twist. At the base, a vanilla and amber blend that mixes brilliantly with the sandalwood’s woodiness. Sweet without being cloying, very rich. Performance: it lasts over 10 hours on my skin. A unique aroma, unisex and slightly polarising due to its strong character. It’s not easy-going, but for me, it’s easier than Desert Air. I bought it blind and got it right, though it can easily miss. Hard to try and find. Repetition: a hidden jewel of Xerjoff. I don’t understand why so little is said about it. It deserves a try. It’s in my top 3 of the brand.
