Descripción
Crave by Calvin Klein is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2002, this composition was created by Yves Cassar, Pascal Gaurin and Jean-Marc Chaillan. Its top notes of bergamot and star anise deliver a fresh first impression; the heart reveals basil, Jamaican pepper and coriander; while the base settles on birch, vetiver, musk, nutmeg, oakmoss, tonka bean and sandalwood.

The ideal fragrance for summer. Not too expensive, original, and a lovely scent, with longevity that increases with the heat and little known. Everyone should own it at least once.
Sea star opening note? Wow.
I wore it at twenty, and fifteen years later I recognised it in the street and couldn’t resist buying it again. I used it all year round, but Crave really shines in temperate or hot weather. At first, I thought it had pepper due to that sparkling, fresh opening, thanks to a potent bergamot that accompanies the entire fragrance. I wouldn’t call it fresh; on my skin, it’s very woody in the mid and dry down. The pepper and basil seemed novel to me then, and now I see they’re used very well. I’m surprised frgrantica doesn’t list tangerine, which I always noticed—could it be a sea star effect? (No, that’s a lie; I’ll have to go to the aquarium to steal a specimen! Haha). Fresh and spicy opening, then dry but with the acidity of the bergamot (especially with the heat). The vetiver and musk are subtle but characterful. I barely notice the tonka bean, which I appreciate. It smells good even with heavy application. On my skin, it lasts about six hours (two more close to the skin with the vetiver and musk). The trail in summer is strong for the first 3–4 hours, then reappears suddenly and pleasantly. I’ve received many compliments; it’s easy to identify, and it’s a relief it’s not a mass-market scent. Unbeatable quality-to-price ratio. Along with CK One, it’s the only Calvin Klein men’s cologne I tolerate (I never knew Obsession).
I had this when I was young and was utterly obsessed with it. Now I can’t even recall it, although the plastic bottle was quite something in itself.
A light and easy-to-wear fragrance. Reminds me of a blend of Mary Kay’s Tribute and Egoiste Platinum. I detect a mentholated touch not mentioned in the description. Cheers.
I loved it; I used it in my teens, but unfortunately it’s no longer available. I remember it had explosive citrus notes and lasted quite a while on the skin.
What a delight! It has a playful, youthful vibe. I once gifted it to a boyfriend from back in the day and it suited him perfectly. I ended up keeping it myself because I became hooked. Loads of fruit, pure summer. Vibrant and dynamic.
I’ve just found it on a perfume website and bought it after 10 years without having it. It was always a must-have in my collection.
I just picked it up from a perfume website and finally got my hands on it after ten years without owning it; it’s always been a must-have in my collection.
Undoubtedly one of CK’s best perfumes. I still have a few millilitres left since it’s discontinued; I use it for events or casual gatherings, especially in summer, and it manages to stand out among other fragrances because its scent is somewhat spicy and zesty.
Excellent fragrance, citrusy, different, long-lasting and with good projection. I had it a long time ago.
Top fragrance, super citrusy, distinctive, lasts all day and projects for miles; I’ve been wearing it for a long time.
One of the best from Calvin Klein, it’s disappeared from the market and I still can’t find a clone that resembles it (Tom Ford’s Costa Azurra leans towards aquatic notes due to that seaweed note). It has decent projection and longevity, it’s a spicy and fresh scent, highly recommended.
The advertising for this fragrance was super eye-catching, with TV commercials and ads in fashion magazines. I was lucky enough to receive it as a gift back in 2003; it was my favourite. I still have a few millilitres left, although the plastic bottle might mean it doesn’t hold the original scent quite as well, but I’ll keep storing it. I’ll let you know later if it still smells 🙃 **yes indeed! After 20 years it still smells and projects, perhaps it’s macerated too much and has different nuances, more fruity, simply delicious.
I’ve just found a perfume that’s 90% similar, I swear! Victorio & Lucchino Selva Enigmatica. Please try it; as soon as I smelled it, it reminded me completely. Also, if you look at the notes, they match in the vast majority.
I’ve just found a perfume that’s about 90% similar, I swear it is! It’s Victorio & Lucchino Selva Enigmática, please give it a try. The moment I sprayed it, it reminded me of it completely. Plus, if you look at the notes, they match for the most part.
I recently asked someone who makes dupes and they recommended Polo Blue. It has a lot of resemblance, but lacks the intensity compared to Crave.
Crave is a light, refreshing option for anyone seeking something easy and uncomplicated, but don’t expect it to be memorable or distinctive. It does its job, but falls short if you’re looking for more character or longevity (fingers crossed you find one).
A fresh, youthful and very masculine scent.
Takes me back to my university days back in 2002–2003. It’s fresh, citrusy and mentholated; I used to get loads of compliments when I wore it. Lasts a long time on the skin and has a top-tier trail. If I could find it again, I’d buy it straight away, although I suspect it’s no longer made. I’d give it 9 out of 10.
