I tested it on paper today and, seeing ‘Sport’ in the name, I already imagined a citrus, herbal, and aquatic flank – in other words, boring and generic. And that’s exactly what it was. One sniff and I discarded it. I don’t like it; it smells like hundreds of other perfumes on the market. It’s perfect for the average man looking for something fresh and sporty without more, but it’s not for me.

  • Exactly… If what you desire is a lime scent (totally lime), this is ideal for you… I agree with Ambrelover, it is totally generic; any perfume catalogue can have a similar one. In any case, the difference is that in the final moments of the fragrance, you perceive musk. The image in my mind is a boy running, sweating and smelling of lime :C

  • Very natural and refreshing citrus scent (mandarin, orange, lime) with a touch of mint and ginger. It reminds me of Clinique Happy and has a bit of Big Pony 1. The projection is contained and the longevity is average; if you test it against others, it loses, but within the Play line it really shines. There are moments, like in high heat, when I only feel comfortable with this or nothing, because something more complex is annoying. Other ‘Sport’ fragrances (Dior, Code Athlete, etc.) are too potent for that. I think Givenchy did exactly right with this line: Play for everything, Play Intense for winter and special occasions, and Sport when the temperature rises.

  • A very natural and refreshing citrus scent (tangerine/orange/lime) with a touch of mint and ginger. Similar to Clinique Happy and also has something of Big Pony 1. Limited projection and normal longevity; if you put it in a ‘performance test’ against most fragrances, it loses, but I think one must see it within a context and within the PLAY line, and there is where it wins. There are moments, for example of great heat, when I only feel comfortable using something like this or nothing at all, as something more complex becomes annoying, for me and for the people around. Even other fragrances I own with the ‘SPORT’ designation (Dior, Code Athlete, Allure Extreme, CH) are too potent for such moments. I think Givenchy did perfectly with this line, and I believe that if someone were to start from scratch, this line covers most usage scenarios: Play for most of the time, Play Intense for winter and more special moments, and Sport when the temperature rises significantly.

I cannot say that it is a bad fragrance, but I can say that it is a very generic fragrance. ‘Modernity’ has not sat well with Givenchy; they wanted to conquer the youth market, but I think they have failed with their final product. If I want to buy a Givenchy ‘youthful and generic’ fragrance, I prefer to buy a Lomani or a Jean Arthes, much cheaper and with a greater variety of options. Pass, gentlemen of Givenchy.

It seems funny that they charge so much for this EDT; it is a fairly common scent, not bad at all, but today among thousands of perfumes launched by different fashion houses, this is just another of the fresh ones, with explosive and striking notes at first sniff, but which over time… disappear. I do not understand what the point is of creating this expensive charm for only two hours… It generally happens with fragrances named SPORT. I think it could serve someone who likes soft scents that do not clog the nose; I have met several people who hate perfumes and when they use one, they like a scent like this. Perhaps that is the target audience. Now, for a SPORT scent, if its purpose is to apply it when practising sport, it works. On the contrary, for a daily scent, for someone with a more demanding nose, it is not suitable; I would recommend a more striking fragrance. For young men, for daily use, in a sports and gym context, for those who like citrus scents with their focus on cleanliness.

  • I must say that on hot days I only felt it for two hours, which disappointed me. But at seventeen degrees it was the opposite: it lasted over six hours, the last notes clinging to the skin. I love it for its soft citrus notes; I even taste it on my palate as if it were lemonade or mandarin. Within the PLAY line, it’s good for the gym, an afternoon with friends in the square, walking the dog, or simply feeling clean and fresh.

  • I must say about this that when I use it on very hot days, I only smell it for the first two hours, which disappointed me a little. But I used it when it was seventeen degrees and it was quite the opposite: it lasted more than six hours, with the last part clinging almost to the skin. I like it very much for its soft citrus notes; I can even taste them on my palate as if I were drinking lemonade or tangerine juice. Within the PLAY style, it is good for: the gym, an afternoon with friends in the square, walking the dog, or simply feeling clean and fresh.

  • Play Sport is a fresh and aromatic fragrance, very pleasant, with a citrus and fruity opening reminiscent of cucumber. The first 30 minutes are quite good, however, the scent evaporates very soon and with difficulty reaches three hours. The dry-down is very common. I think for what it offers, there are many and better options (although the smell is agreeable); if its price were lower, it would be a good option to start in the world of fragrances. Of the three fragrances in the Play line by Givenchy, this is the one that fares the worst.

  • Evolutico

Very fine and delicate lemon, a touch of bergamot and an almost non-existent mint. Not much to say, low longevity, soft, subtle, citrusy. Beautiful bottle, extremely modern, generic packaging, ideal for after a shower and intimate spaces.

  • Cold lemon! This rich and fresh fragrance came out almost a decade ago, I managed to get hold of it, and it is my second bottle. It has a very special harmony with pepper and musk, creating a scent that is very clean, fresh and sexy within the citrus-fresh range. I recommend it widely for warm climates; if you can get your hands on it, do not hesitate, as it is not an over-saturated scent on the market.

  • Luna_ticoxs

I like how the citrus notes were worked together with the other notes in this fragrance. The only thing is that the longevity isn’t the best. Otherwise, I think it’s very good for summer, the gym, or just being at home.

  • Luna_ticoxs

I love how the citrus notes have been blended with the others in this fragrance; the only drawback is that, as the truth goes, the longevity is not the best. Otherwise, I think it is a very good fragrance for summer, the gym, or simply for staying at home.

Today, right here in 2025, I managed to track it down through my trusted supplier, and I can say it is a wonderful fragrance. Ideal for the heat, suitable for day or night, and it even holds up well into autumn… Lemon, ginger and woods, with a slightly spicy finish. It is a combination that never fails and pleases everyone. On my skin, it performs brilliantly, projecting moderately for an hour and a half, and staying close to the skin almost all day (I wear it to work). If you apply it to your clothes, it lasts several days smelling fresh and soft. It has been discontinued for a long time now; if you see it anywhere, do not hesitate to buy it. It is well worth it. Best wishes. Edit 02/07/25: I am already buying my third bottle of this delight… I hope it never runs out… Givenchy’s quality definitely never changes.
