Play For Her Intense by Givenchy

I loved this perfume. Super sexy, addictive, nocturnal, with good projection and it lasted for ages on skin, clothes, and sheets. What a pity it’s discontinued. However, some time ago I came across the Luna Intenso by Natura; although it’s not the same, it reminded me of it quite a bit ♥

What a pity it’s no longer available, it was a perfumon… thanks to some reviews I could smell that scent again, only without its pink pepper and intense wood that gave it the special touch. The rest is the same. Thanks Natura Luna Intenso, I hope you never let me down!

I loved it so much, it’s elegant, sober, sweet; a perfect balance between fruity, floral and woody. It opens with a spicy pepper alongside juicy, sweet peach, the orchid is noticeable, it evolves and becomes more floral, then the tonka bean, patchouli and benzoin enter, giving it strength and magnetism. It’s a gem. If it’s similar to Jimmy Choo, I feel this one is more elegant and floral. It has a moderate trail, quite good longevity and it’s enjoyed from the start; its evolution and dry down are top.

A friend lent me hers and I’m testing it on a blotter. I find it in the style of Cavalli Nero Assoluto, Jimmy Choo Illicit (I think this is the sweetest of them all), CK Euphoria… Those dark, floral-woody sweetnesses, velvety, warmly seductive. (For those missing it, you can explore those realms…) I like it, if they gave it to me I probably would use it, or if I found it at a very good price. But having the Nero Assoluto and the Play Intense being discontinued, I think before putting my money here I’d bet on another option…

Play Intense is elegant, sexy, yet to a certain point tender, warm, and cosy, ideal for cold days or night outings. It’s one of my blind buys and I have no regrets whatsoever; I’d buy it again without a doubt.

Play Intense has pleasantly surprised me. Seeing the bottle I imagined it for teenagers and noooooo, it’s elegant, opulent, deep and very balanced. The first thing I smell is a sweet peach, then a delicious tiare flower and the elegant orchid sending the peach to the background, then comes the unmistakable tonka bean, velvety and deep, accompanied by benzoin, sandalwood and patchouli. On my skin the orchid, tonka bean and benzoin lead, making me feel sensual. It’s for wearing well dressed, formal occasions, at night, perfect for cold days. Play Intense is beautiful, it stands out, has character and walks on its own path, very chic. Its trail and longevity are moderate on my skin. I recommend it totally.

Trialled it today and it’s elegant; the longevity is decent, though not top-tier. Might pick it up later.

It’s not the same as Play for Her; the Intense version is very different. It’s a night scent, packed with patchouli, pepper, and sandalwood. The florals and peach are barely noticeable, and there’s a lack of citrus. Ideal for a punk girl: radiant and strong. I love the pink and white scents from this line, but I would never wear the violet one.

Addictive! Without a doubt, it’s one of my favourites.

What a tragic ending to my story with this perfume. Months ago, upon discovering my tastes leaned towards oriental fragrances, I searched for perfumes in that family. I came across this one, whose bottle seemed to attract any ‘young girl’ like me. What drew me in more was the description of the women who wore it: elegant, sensual, different. I was thrilled and decided to find it. I first encountered it on a blotter sample: it smelled of incense and flowers, something unisex, which I love. I adored it and added it to my list. But my brain screamed: ‘Smell it on your skin first!’. A few months later, I went to the perfumerie and applied it to my skin. At first, it was the scent I remembered, my infatuation almost making me buy it. But what do you think? A few minutes later, it smelled like cardboard to me. Yes, just as you read. It didn’t work. The worst came after: it gave me terrible dizziness, a headache, and vanished completely within 3 hours. I lost out. While there are perfumes that suit me but not others, this time it was the reverse: I see everyone had a happy ending with this, but not me. I’ll get over it one day.

I bought it almost blindly. What a wonder, elegant, sexy and chic.

I trialled it by chance in the shop. I was dizzy from so many tests, sprayed it on my hand to smell it later, and ran out. I arrived home feeling nauseous, went for a bike ride, had a shower and forgot about it. Days later, when I approached my bike, I noticed a delicious scent and stuck to the handlebars. How rich and intense! It still smelled days afterwards. I couldn’t remember which one it was, so I went to the shop; the assistant recognised it straight away because it had soaked into my hand. Unrivalled! It lasts for ages, intense to the limit. I love it and people always ask what I’m wearing. It’s sweet but not cloying, warm, sensual and unique.

It had been a while since I bought a Givenchy, as since Very Irresistible they’ve been bringing rather uninteresting fragrances. This floral-oriental is a good reason to resume the relationship. The bottle is polished ceramic, a deep violet like a slim iPod with a metallic ribbon resembling frost. At first glance, anyone would think it’s for night parties or young girls (which isn’t bad), but don’t be fooled! Inside lies an eau de parfum that really stands out. It’s not just for parties, lights, and music, but also for quiet outings with friends or a partner, intimacy, dinners, evenings with wine, or cold afternoons and mornings. I was looking for an orchid I liked and found it in Play Intense. The tiare is the main note, present all the time, which I adore; it gives it appeal, femininity, and sensuality. I detect tonka bean and delicate white coumarin. On the skin, the benzoin is prominent with a hint of peach. The sandalwood and patchouli are discreet and complementary. I don’t perceive the pink pepper, but I suppose they contribute their vibe because I feel very comfortable. The dry-down is like soft incense or spiced floral smoke, akin to chocolatey vanilla. I think it would go well with smokers, making an interesting blend. The fixative and longevity are excellent; it lasts me over 10 hours (I reapply just to feel soaked in it). I can go to bed and still smell it in the morning before showering. I enjoy it quite a bit, slightly fresher than expected.
