If you like Tom Ford or Chloe-style neroli, you might like this. It starts citrusy and develops slowly into more floral. Perhaps it has a slightly more woody or earthy touch on my skin, possibly due to the patchouli. It’s very spring-like, reminding me of orange groves in full bloom. I think it’s harmless and romantic. My first review. I have over a hundred perfumes and will be describing them one by one. Some people describe things so beautifully, I’ll try to do the same. I’ll take note, Drakecito.
I bought this perfume but ended up giving it to my 20-year-old daughter… it smells delicious to her! It’s a bit citrusy and woody at first, then moves to orange blossom to settle into a fresh woody floral. I don’t know its exact longevity, but I think my daughter is happy. Recommended 100%.
This Diptyque fragrance is surprisingly colourful: the zest of citrus, the spontaneity of juniper berries, and the joy of the orange. It is clean, fresh, and has a very perceptible musk note. If you aren’t a fan of heavy essences, give it a chance; it is fantastic for any occasion. It smells refreshing, sexy, and clean, perfect for those warm summer days when you crave something fresh and spontaneous.

I discovered this fragrance via MyScentJourney and had doubts: representing the orange tree without the fruit? Making it clean with citrus and woods? Lasting more than six hours? The answer is yes, but it left me wondering: where have you been all these years, Diptyque? The experience is sublime: clean, elegant, fresh, sexy, and charming. The notes are there and enough to create this gem. Excellent price considering inflation and designer performance. Take care with the sprays as the juniper berries can prick the nose in enclosed spaces. If you like citrus, woods, extreme heat, the office, a partner, or simply want to smell clean and happy, give it a try. All you need is Eau Des Sens!
How could I possibly regret it? It was just a couple of minutes while I walked home. After sampling almost the entire Diptyque range and purchasing my first niche fragrance, my remorse was purely financial: had I spent too much? Was I being extravagant? Had I gone overboard? But by then, it was done. I arrived, showered, applied it, and… it was glorious! Fresh, floral, soapy, with supernatural longevity and zero synthetic notes. Its star note, juniper berries (their famous ‘olfactory accident’), recreates an orange tree with neroli, petit grain, wood, and neroli. You can feel the care and artistry in every ingredient. On my shelf, it looks down on my other perfumes with the same superiority a Rembrandt would have towards school prizes. You must smell it: it evolves, tells stories, and transports you. With my other perfumes, a compliment is a bonus; with this one, you tire of compliments because everyone will tell you about it within a minute. It is my signature. I wish I could sign off like that.
How could I regret it? It was an instant decision after leaving the shop. After trying the whole Diptyque range, I bought my first niche perfume. The regret was financial: do you spend that much? But once done, I got home, showered, and sprayed it… it was glorious! Fresh, floral, soapy, supernatural performance, and nothing synthetic. The juniper berry note (the ‘olfactory accident’) stands out and how it recreates the whole orange tree. First-class ingredients with care and art. It sits on my shelf looking down on the others with superiority, like a Rembrandt in a school competition. It evolves, tells a story, and invokes the best version of oneself. With other perfumes, a compliment was a point; with this, you get tired of receiving them because someone tells you every minute. My signature? Wish it were.
An exquisite high-level fragrance. The best in my collection for the day because it smells clean. For anyone wanting to smell fresh, neat, and clean, it’s a must-have. Smells freshly showered with a fine white soap. The best from Diptyque after Orpheon and superior to the soapy ones. The only one to have received compliments from day one.
A citrus that lasts, and lasts, and lasts… Its longevity on the skin stands out, which is rare for this type of fragrance. It doesn’t smell soapy as I read somewhere, but rather clean, even reminiscent of baby powder. A sharp opening that relaxes to last until the next day. If you’re looking for a talcum-like scent, you’re mistaken. It smells freshly showered. Highly recommended if you like daily colognes but with quality ingredients, and above all, longevity.
Eau des Sens is very similar to Neroli Portofino but with more intensity and complexity. As it dries down, it smells like Carthusia Number One. Moderate performance but with a beautiful orange blossom note, almost as if you picked it straight from the bush. Moderate price compared to the hypoallergenic nature of TF.
Citrus power! The longest-lasting in my collection, exceeding 10 hours. Be careful with the opening; it’s strong, so five sprays is perfect. A very natural neroli inspired by the orange blossom, a potent soapy aroma that initially recalls vintage colognes but by the second hour becomes angelic. I’ve been wearing it in various places for over a year and it works brilliantly. Now that it has the fame it deserves, I’m sharing with ‘JOE1717’ its accords and uses. A gem from that minimalist French house.
Less is more. Bought blind based on reviews promising a clean, niche scent, and I wasn’t wrong. Nothing like this in designer perfumes. Smells 100% natural, from the bark to the damp floor of the orange tree, without falling into the obvious. Gives a total sense of cleanliness. One of my favourite bottles and an accessible price for such natural ingredients.
I couldn’t leave this unwritten, no one has said it and it’s important. A friend and I tested it from the freshly opened bottle. It’s incredible how perfumes change according to the skin: on him the florals stand out more, on me the soapy aspect. What I wanted to comment is that, after years of searching, I found the perfume that smells like what I was looking for: on my skin, this Diptyque Eau des Sens smells identical to the Heno de Pravia deodorant spray. It’s not similar, it’s the same. Now I don’t know whether to buy it, because it smells the same and perhaps it won’t compensate the expense. I will test it more and decide. Edit: I wrote the review quickly. I confirm for the dry-down phase, but as it dries it changes and becomes exquisite. Neroli musky aroma, subtle and transparent. Yes, it reminds of a bathed baby. It earned compliments in a day, acceptable longevity. I don’t know when, but it will happen 🙂
Eau des Sens has left me spellbound: scent, longevity, and projection. It’s potent and lasts a long time. I was looking for something clean, versatile, and long-lasting; I bought a decant and gifted it to my mother. To me, it smells very feminine and I wouldn’t wear it myself, but it’s a wonder for whoever wears it. You can tell the quality of the ingredients and it’s worth the price. It’s feminine for me, but I recommend trying it. Wearable all year round, though in intense heat it’s on another level. 8.5/10. Edit: it’s one of the most potent clean fragrances I’ve smelled, leaves a brutal trail and projects too much.
The cologne from Diptyque. Kurkdjian has his aquas and Petit Matin, Malle his Cologne Indélicible, Givenchy and Dior their versions, 4711… every house has its timeless fresh scent, and here is theirs. Luminous, bright, cheerful ✨ These are fragrances one always desires and make me smile when I put my nose to my wrist. I would wear it every day.
Hello Lukadoncic77, where did you buy the decant? I’m new and would like to know where to buy original decants from Spain. Many thanks.
🔎👃🏻 “WHEN ANY PREVIOUS SCENT WAS BETTER” 👃🏻🔍 For those who haven’t tried it: it smells like a freshly bathed baby, period. It’s not subjective; quite a few in my circle agree. Some might be put off, thinking of a premium “Nenuco” like Tom Ford’s, but it isn’t. It’s clean, neat, and neutral—spectacular. Like a white bar of soap from when we were small, protected and carefree. Light, with white florals and a subtle orange, velvety, like a freshly laundered towel. Few things more comforting. Projection is good, it performs without being a bomb. Longevity? 6 hours on skin, longer on clothes. I LOVE IT. If you like clean fragrances, try this 300%. 🔝 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
🔎👃🏻 ‘WHEN ANY PREVIOUS SCENT WAS BETTER’ 👃🏻🔍 If you haven’t tried it, it smells like a freshly showered baby, full stop. It’s not subjective; my entire circle confirms it. Some might be put off, thinking of a premium ‘Nenuco’ like Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, but they shouldn’t be. It is clean, neat, neutral, and spectacular. It smells of childhood white soap, that feeling of protection and worry-free comfort. Light, with white flowers, neroli, and a subtle orange, not acidic but velvety and fluffy, like a freshly washed towel. Soothing and evocative. The projection is perfect without being a bomb. It lasts about six hours on my skin, which I extend onto clothes (a real pleasure). I LOVE IT. If you like clean fragrances, this is an absolute must-try.
A timeless aroma, super recognisable and charming. Ideal for everyday wear, it projects cleanliness and joy. It’s that wardrobe staple that serves for everything. Perfect for summer, yet it works in the cold too. If you like compliments, this one gives them as it evokes past eras. One of the best neroli fragrances on the market. Projection and longevity are correct. The perfume everyone should own.
I can’t try Diptyque before buying because there are no physical stores, everything is online. How do I get a decant? Where should I turn? ❤️ I’ve been told already, but in case anyone else is interested: there’s a store in Spain. Madrid, C/ Claudio Coello 85.
I don’t understand the comparison between Eau des Sens and Neroli Portofino. Both are citrusy, summery, and clean, but they are totally different scents. You just have to look at the number of notes Neroli Portofino carries. Yes, both have neroli and bitter orange, but Neroli Portofino outshines it in projection and longevity. Neroli Portofino lasts a mere breath (I think it is the shortest-lasting in my collection), whereas Eau des Sens lasts all day, with that orange note appearing and disappearing. It smells more of orange peel than the fruit itself, with a woody base, like when it first blooms. It is a simple fragrance that I believe anyone could enjoy.
I don’t understand comparing Eau des Sens with Neroli Portofino. They’re both citrusy and clean, but distinct scents. Neroli Portofino has more notes, but here Eau des Sens wins on longevity and projection. The other lasts a mere breath, this one all day. It smells of orange peel and blooming wood, without any soapy odor. It dances between orange, flower, leaves, and wood. Simple and for everyone.
As the salesperson told me: it’s a fragrance for adults. Someone said it smells like a teddy bear and they’re right; it’s a clean, pleasant scent of a well-groomed, happy person. The surprise is that on skin it lasts over four hours, then fades to a skin scent noticeable until around 12. It’s a wardrobe staple, but with a premium price tag.
It’s a house jewel, an absolute must-have if you’re looking for something clean. The first three minutes might be a bit daunting due to the realistic orange note, but it’s worth the wait. It evolves into a super-clean soap scent with neroli and that classic Diptyque white wood, refined base. Performance and projection are elegant: it floats without being intrusive. I bought the original at the Paris boutique, beware of fakes, there are many. Be careful. Miao 😊
For me, it is one of the house’s best offerings and a must-have if you like clean fragrances. The first three minutes might put you off because the scent of the orange and its flower is too realistic, but it is worth the wait. It quickly transforms into a very clean soap bar with neroli, with that typical Diptyque base: white wood shavings, clean and refined. The performance is very good, with an elegant projection, non-invasive but floating superbly in the air. Bought at the Paris boutique, I specify this because there is a flood of fakes out there. Be careful. Miao 😊
I got to know this citrus aroma through a decant; a friend gave it to me as a gift. For me, it’s not something new in perfumery; what really caught my attention was the combination of the top notes with the base notes that create a citrus and herbal aroma. As an olfactory experience, it was pleasant to get to know it; however, I wouldn’t buy a bottle, as I think there are similar scents at a better price with better performance.
Nothing invented in this aroma, but it smells great. It would be an obligatory wardrobe staple if its skin performance were not so limited. Close to the skin it lasts quite a while, but it doesn’t come out from there, except at the beginning. Overall, it is an aroma that smells clean. Don’t look for anything more. Citrusy but creamy, floral and aromatic. Many days one wishes to smell like this. For intimate environments, where one does not seek to project or attract attention. In short, who doesn’t want to smell clean? With all the pros, I don’t think I would buy it. Since its performance does not accompany. And even though it’s not expensive…
Eau de Sens, one of the most beautiful realistic orange perfumes. And I said ‘orange tree’, the tree, not the fruit. A clean and somewhat soapy scent. Opening with a wonderful orange blossom smell that quickly evolves into a dry aroma; evoking more the trunk of the orange tree than its fruits or leaves. Deceptively delicate, since its performance is impressive, both in longevity (+7 hours) and versatility, since the apparent spring and summer perfume behaves in the cold with equally surprising projection. Even more so, taking into account the type of aroma and that it is an eau de toilette. That dryness should not make us think it is a talcum perfume, which turns it, together with its delicate cleanliness and soapiness, into a totally unisex scent. Perfect for any type of event; office, elegant events, as a signature, etc. With maximum compositional and aromatic quality. A 10/10 perfume.
Do I like this expensive Nenuco? Well, yes, the truth is. Eau de Sens is a distinguished bath cologne, more or less linear, harmless, very citrusy and elegant, but don’t expect much more, and neither does it pass anything. It’s a light thing, for babies and totally pristine, for after a shower and spending a Saturday morning taking a walk down some distinguished street smelling of normal cleanliness. The drawback is its outrageous price, which does not correspond to what it offers, but as everyone can spend their money as they wish, well for Diptyque’s sake. I personally don’t see the patchouli or musk notes. This is pure citrus, with little differentiated phases.
ONE OF THE BEST CITRUS. For me, Eau de Sens is not just a fresh cologne, one of those that smell clean and that’s it. No, no… If you are a lover of citrus and fresh fragrances, this is a must-have. Although we know that this type of compositions are usually ephemeral due to the volatility of their notes, this eau de toilette achieves it with much decency. Behind the initial burst of freshness, there is a vegetal and slightly woody base that does not steal the spotlight from the citrus, but accompanies and sustains it, giving it projection and a bit more longevity. It doesn’t last as long as Imagination by Louis Vuitton—which I also love—but Diptyque takes another path. It has that air of living nature, without artifice, without ambroxan or laboratory effects. As well said in other reviews: it smells like the whole orange tree, with its flower, its bark, its leaves… even the sap seems to show under the sun. Eau de Sens does not limit itself to being pleasant: it has texture, it has a soul. It’s like opening a window in June and letting everything in: the air, the light, the sound, the smell. A sensation that is not only smelled but felt. And when it settles on the skin, it remains like sunlight filtered through the leaves: clear, alive, without artifice.
Like a cologne without being one, or a fragrance for children but without falling entirely there. It’s like that, an equilibrium almost bordering on the innocent, almost utopian, but always pure, always tidy, even elegant if worn with appropriate clothing. Totally unisex. Totally harmless and yet a point apart from the rest of the market, a window to a garden with an orange tree on a sunny day.
Yesterday I wore this jewel with 30 degrees in my trip to Seville; I went out at 10:30 and came back at 22:30 and I could still smell it when I moved my neck. It has been one of the best perfumed days of the year; its performance is incredible, it accompanied me all day, especially in enclosed spaces where I noticed a quite present aura, its scent so refined. Even when I got into bed and rested my head on the pillow, it gave me goodnight… a 10. Two sprays behind the ears, one on the nape and two between the neck and the shirt, left and right.
In my opinion, one of the best neroli perfumes ever created… Nenuco Cologne? What? The longevity is very notable, lasting well over a working day. The trail is exquisite, conveying cleanliness and tidiness always. I don’t think it’s a compliment perfume; hardly anyone will ask what you’re wearing, but whoever gets close will think you smell very good. It’s probably the most versatile one I have: 100% unisex, for any age and occasion. It’s used casually, in flip-flops and swimwear, or with a suit and tie; it always leaves you looking good. The magic is in dressing it up with a little warmth. Enjoy this great perfume.
Like all Diptyque EDTs, at first it smells of ‘expensive and cheap liquid’, then the change happens and it’s pure celestial happiness, but only at the level of scent on the skin; anyway, fantastic.
This little perfume has just arrived in my collection; it was a blind buy and it turned out well. On the first spray, I only noticed a bitter orange that I didn’t like much and gave a cheap impression, but on the second, the orange blossom emerges and blends in. It’s not a note I adore, but this perfume made me fall in love with it. It lasts with a little depth thanks to the patchouli. It’s ideal for hot days, fresh, with a hint of herbal notes, mixed with that perfect soapy or talcum sensation. I can imagine wearing it with a white linen dress in summer, walking through the streets of Greece or Andalusia.
