Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
Caught me by surprise, for the better. Usually, I prefer modern over vintage, but this has a special touch. It’s classic and timeless. The top notes fade in a jiffy, leaving plum, peach, ylang-ylang and rose on my skin. I see it as 100% feminine: creamy, sweet and with good longevity. It smells like a cake or ripe fruit, very rounded. In the end, it turns vanilla and amber. In summer, it might be overpowering. I’d say it’s for winter, nights out or the office, though in small enclosed spaces at close range it can become piercing. Reminds me a bit of Lalique’s Velvet Plum due to the plum, but this one is sweeter and powdery, whereas the other is drier. I did like it.
I tried a decant and it didn’t grab me. The opening is nice, a white floral with jasmine, tuberose and a hint of freshness. Then the ylang-ylang kicks in, turning it into a vintage fragrance, woody, a bit heavy but creamy. It has projection and longevity, but I wouldn’t buy it. If you like vintage florals or ylang-ylang, give it a try.
