I’d been hunting for this for months and finally received it as a gift in 75ml. Without a doubt, it’s the best gardenia fragrance I’ve tried: juicy, fresh, and very feminine. The green notes keep it from feeling heavy, like stepping into a garden of white flowers. It’s a classic from Van Cleef but not retro; it suits any age. It’s worlds apart from the Chanel one. Now that it’s cold, it lacks a bit of sparkle; its moment is summer, so I’ll keep it until the temperatures rise to try it again. If you love gardenia, this is your perfume. P.S. I’m saying it’s the best for me, but I haven’t yet tried Tom Ford’s Velvet Gardenia, which people rave about; the fact that it’s unisex puts me off slightly.
