Sometimes I wonder why we love smelling of food. According to the brand, Crumb Couture should be a croissant with blueberry jam. It achieves this, though not literally. It doesn’t smell of freshly baked dough, but rather of a croissant perfume, and that’s fine because that’s what it is. It’s not a natural scent but synthetic, yet without giving off a cheap, low-quality or poorly made vibe. I’m clarifying this because those adjectives often get linked to artificial fragrances. It makes sense, as it’s a perfume made almost entirely from lab materials; I don’t know if it’s possible to extract the real scent of dough or jam. It’s a cosy, warm and very comforting aroma. It has nothing elegant about it; you’d hardly wear it to go out due to how comfortable it is. It’s perfectly unisex, just like croissants.
