If patchouli gives you headaches, this isn’t for you, even though it’s there. The good news is it doesn’t dominate; it blends beautifully with the vanilla and brown sugar: noticeable, but not overwhelming. It’s a sweet, full-bodied scent, clearly for adults, with a woody, earthy base. It’s perfect for cold days or rainy weather. At first, the opening is potent and intense, almost hostile or very strong. But between an hour and a half and two hours, it changes radically: that’s where the magic begins. The vanilla takes over, everything balances, and the mix of vanilla, liquor, and patchouli sounds harmonious, with no single note competing. It lasts about nine hours on clothes with a moderate projection. It starts strong but then transforms into something sensual, dark, adult, and suggestive, with a unique and well-defined character.
What a wonder; the price-to-quality ratio is unbeatable. It feels like a boozy vanilla with a medium chocolatey touch, secured by the patchouli and the crème brûlée note. It comes across as dark and totally unisex… elegant, and in no way invasive. It reminded me a bit of Mugler’s Angel Muse, but more boozy and unisex.
I find a great similarity with Ghost, the dupe for Ani Nishane. Spiced vanilla, good body, good presence. But I see nothing more than that: vanilla and more vanilla. I don’t detect any liquor element or anything of the sort, nor does it resemble Van Phy Rhum.
The name can be misleading. I expected a very vanilla, boozy gourmand with rum, sugar and patchouli, but I found something very alcoholic where you can detect vanilla, lots of patchouli, spices and oud. It’s not what I expected, but I liked it a lot. I see it as an adult, spiced, tipsy, woody, dark, sexy, elegant and mysterious vanilla. It’s not the sweet dessert vanilla. It’s great for night outings in the cold or autumn. One day someone complimented it and asked me about it. It makes a statement, it’s intense and different. The longevity and sillage are very good, plus the price is economical. It’s a great perfume, but not a blind buy.

I think it’s very suitable for night outings in colder climates or autumn. One day it was complimented on me; people asked about the perfume. It makes an impression; it’s quite intense and different. The longevity and trail are very good, plus the price is very economical. It’s a great perfume, but it’s not a blind buy.
I love them! Forget Van Py Rhum; I sold that one because it projected nothing and was very masculine. Here you have something super unisex and indulgent. It smells of burnt sugar and patchouli, like Lord of Misrule or Angel, nothing like the patchouli in La Vie Est Belle or Chanel, which I don’t like. You can detect the rum clearly. The projection is beastly, the price-to-quality ratio is excellent, and it lasts a long time. When it dries down, it’s super sweet vanilla with oriental touches.
Wonderful mature and spiced vanilla, nothing like sweet dessert. It has character, with rum and spices that are noticeable, but it’s not a ‘boozy’ perfume. Ideal for mixing if you want to add that spiced sweetness to other fragrances.
Fiuuuu, this perfume is a whole other story. If you’re looking for baker’s vanilla and something indulgent, look elsewhere. If you want adult vanilla, stay put. In my case, the patchouli, burnt sugar, tonka, and spices stand out, finishing with a boozy vanilla. It’s not youthful or playful; it’s formal and serious. Don’t buy it blindly because it smells like what you love or hate without holding back. I think it’s unisex. I’m not sure if it’s a dupe for Kayali, as I don’t have it in my collection.

In my case, patchouli, burnt sugar, tonka and spices stand out, closing with a boozy vanilla. It’s not youthful or playful, but formal and serious. I don’t recommend buying it blind because it smells like what you love or hate, with no middle ground. I think it’s unisex. I don’t know if it’s a dupe of Kayali’s, as I don’t have it in my collection.
It’s an adult and spiced vanilla, nothing like the bakery or dessert sweet kind. It has character and spices. You can detect the rum alongside the vanilla and spices, although it’s not entirely a ‘tipsy’ perfume if you understand what I mean. It’s perfect to combine with other perfumes if you want to give them a spiced sweetness.
Smells great. I expected something different; the reviews had me fearing it would be custard or burnt sugar, or an excessive rum alcohol. Neither one nor the other. It opens with a strong hit of patchouli and flowers; that patchouli has a mentholated touch reminiscent of Mugler’s Angel (only the patchouli is similar). It accompanies the entire development, though more subdued. A few minutes later the vanilla appears; on my skin, the rum isn’t noticeable, the flowers disappear quickly, and in the end, there’s a lovely patchouli with elegant vanilla. Projection and longevity are moderate, correct; it doesn’t vanish in two hours nor is it a beast. I’ve worn it for a few weeks and it improves with time. Among my Arabic perfumes, it’s one of my favourites; I would buy it again.
I like it. I thought the vanilla would stand out more, but on my skin, the patchouli (very fresh) dominates along with the rum. Definitely for special occasions.

At first, it’s like a rum punch that punches you in the nose and takes time to get used to, but then it settles and blends well. What stands out most is that burnt brown sugar. After that comes the oud and patchouli, and the vanilla mixes heavily with that burnt note until the perfume balances out. I bought it blind and it was a let-off initially, but it’s opened me up to a bit more boozy perfumes, which aren’t a bad thing for winter.

I agree with Carmetta’s review, except for the similarity to Khamrah. It resembles Kayali but is sweeter, more vanilla-forward and feminine. The rum is very noticeable at first, and it is much more balanced than Vanilla Royale. I loved it.
I can’t stand it. It smells like an old house, like rancid patchouli. It’s strange because I know many people who love it, but I can’t handle it. I was expecting something different.
I’m obsessed; it’s a super sweet and intoxicating perfume. I detect lots of rum, vanilla, patchouli, crème brûlée and sugar. It smells like custard with cookies. It’s very similar to Kayali’s Vanilla Sugared Patchouli, but I prefer December Vanilla: it’s more feminine, softer and less strident. I also notice a bit of Khamrah, as if it had cinnamon. That’s why I won’t buy it, as I already have Khamrah. The December Vanilla bottle is gorgeous; I’d love to have it in my collection.
