About Regent
Regent from Maison Asrar: An Oriental Woody Scent with Universal Appeal
New for 2026, Regent is a unisex fragrance from Maison Asrar, firmly placed within the oriental woody family. It offers a seamless mix of zest and warmth, signature of the house's contemporary vision.
The scent evolves from shimmering citrus and spice through a soft floral heart to a lingering base of woods, musk and amber. It is composed to suit both men and women, blending tradition with a modern edge.
Regent is a striking example of a modern oriental woody perfume. Maison Asrar has crafted a composition that respects the genre's rich heritage, yet feels right at home in the present day. It is a fragrance designed for those who appreciate depth without heaviness.
The top notes are a lively fusion of grapefruit, ginger, bergamot and mandarin. This opening is clean and invigorating, with the ginger providing a gentle sparkle that sets the stage for the softer elements to come.
The heart unfolds with orange blossom, iris root and jasmine. There is a gentle powdery quality to this phase, thanks largely to the iris, while the white florals contribute a smooth, slightly sweet elegance. It is both refined and comforting.
The base is anchored by musk, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, ambergris and tonka bean. These ingredients create a drydown that is woody, softly ambery and subtly sweet. The tonka bean adds a creamy facet, ensuring the composition remains smooth rather than dry.
Accents of citrus, fresh spice, wood, white florals, powder, musk and aromatics all find their place in this multi-layered scent. Based on 215 ratings, the perfume holds an impressive average score of 4.55 stars, which suggests a strong level of appreciation among its audience.
Regent will particularly appeal to those who love refined fragrances with an oriental soul. It works well for daily wear and formal occasions, and suits anyone who appreciates powder-tinged woods.
In Regent, Maison Asrar has crafted a woody oriental that feels both familiar and novel. A well-judged composition for a wide audience.

I haven’t smelt Sospiro Vibrato, so I don’t know how similar it is, but I did find it very similar to Turathi Blue, which I do own, almost to the point of making me think they were redundant. Very pleasant, very summery and, at the price here (about 20 USD), it’s a better buy than the previous one. In a local shop, all the fragrances in this line are around that price, which seems like a bargain to me. They feel high quality, less synthetic than others in the same price range.
This fragrance is very well made and of excellent quality; several listed ingredients are noticeable and overall it is a well-balanced, natural scent. It’s a citrus explosion, while the iris root gives a somewhat earthy or powdery character. The white flowers are noticeable without being feminine. It conveys a great deal of elegance and cleanliness; it smells like a luxury soap. It reminded me of the smell of some boxes of Indian incense, that fresh, powdery, soapy scent, but with far superior quality. I don’t know the original, but it must be spectacular. Unfortunately, the only problem would be its performance: very poor compared with what I’ve read about how Sospiro Vibrato performs (it projects well for the first hour and lasts about 4 hours on skin). I hope maceration/oxidation makes an improvement; for now the bottle is new, so I’ll come back and update this.
