Perfumer Sian Lee sets crisp fruit and layered rose against sandalwood, moss and a distinct animalic warmth.
Up top are pine tar, black currants and cherry. The tarry, green facet gives the fruit substance, keeping it juicy yet rather sombre.
The heart centres on rose and May rose, with lily of the valley adding lift. The result is a white-floral, softly powdery phase with a clean shape.
Underneath, sandalwood, amber, moss and civet form the foundation. The wood feels creamy, the amber rounded, while moss and civet bring earth and musk.
What stands out is the balance between freshness and depth. Rather than a light, sweet rose, this is dense and textured, moving from brightness towards shadow.
The composition follows a traditional top, heart and base arc, with rose carried through from the fruity opening to the mossy close.
It should appeal to wearers who favour characterful roses and enjoy dark berries, powdery petals and mossy, ambery woods with an animalic whisper.
