About Sultane Oud
Sultane Oud: A Warm Oriental of Spiced Rose and Dark Woods
Sultane Oud by Jeanne Arthes is an Oriental fragrance for women. It brings together rose, soft spice and oud wood over a rounded, comforting base.
The development travels from a fresh, spiced floral opening towards a fruity-woody heart, closing with vetiver and tonka bean for gentle warmth.
Top notes feature rose, saffron and geranium. Rose sets the floral tone, saffron lends warm spiciness, and geranium offers a crisp green and aromatic edge.
The middle reveals patchouli, raspberry and oud wood. Raspberry contributes a juicy brightness, balanced by the earthiness of patchouli and the dry character of oud.
In the base, vetiver and tonka bean take over. Vetiver provides dry, green structure, while tonka bean adds a vanilla-like, balsamic softness.
The overall accord is rosy, warm-spicy with a fresh-spicy lift, plus herbal and floral nuances. The oud is present but polished, mellowed by fruit and blossom.
It is a cosy, evening-leaning scent, well suited to cooler weather and to those who favour a pronounced rose resting on dark woods with a sweetened trail.
It will appeal to wearers who favour floral orientals, spiced rose, patchouli and oud, with raspberry lift and a tonka-bean drydown.
Sultane Oud is a well-judged feminine oriental: spiced to begin with, fruity and woody at its core, then soft and balsamic. A lovely choice for rose with depth.
