For 2026, Cerruti adds Essence Pour Homme to the 1881 line, a Woody Oriental for men by perfumer Jacques Huclier.
Gin, black pepper and yerba mate form the top, lavender, leather and geranium shape the heart, and amber, Virginia cedar and tonka bean make up the base.
At first spray the gin accord feels brisk and tonic-like, lifted by black pepper spice. Mate brings a green, herbal edge that keeps the opening smart rather than sweet.
Lavender then takes charge — clean, classic and unmistakably masculine — with geranium adding freshness. The leather note stays supple, lending grain without heaviness.
The base turns warmer and woodier: Virginia cedar provides a dry, well-cut structure, amber adds radiance and tonka bean rounds it off with a soft vanilla touch.
