Clive Christian 1872 Woman is catalogued as one of the most luxurious and expensive perfumes in the world (though not quite as much anymore), an ode to Queen Victoria created for her, and which was also combined with Clive Christian 1872 Man as a symbol of her love for Prince Albert. It’s a citrus floral with 46 ingredients and 20% fixation. On my skin, it’s purely citrus: lemon, mandarin, and bergamot, with good projection and longevity; as it settles, it becomes slightly sweet but retains its citrus character. For me, although it is citrus, it’s not fresh like Hermès; it has plenty of character without being heavy. I’m more of a sweet gourmand perfume person, but from time to time I fancy something that makes me feel different, that takes me out of my comfort zone, and this perfume is perfect because, besides that, it makes me feel very distinguished and special. It doesn’t resemble any other fragrance I know, and I don’t know anyone else who owns it; if you can afford its price, you’ll not only have a majestic bottle decorating your dressing table, but also a unique fragrance that will make you feel like a total experience when wearing it.

The price is high, so if I have to recommend something, I’d prefer to tell them to buy CK One and make a combo with Jo Malone 154; the result will be very similar and not so costly.

Smells like luxury shampoo and absolutely slaps. The citrus and lemon notes carry the entire fragrance, blending beautifully with that fruity aspect which is what I notice most. I’d definitely buy it again for that elegant, versatile citrus-fruity touch; perfect for both nights out and everyday wear.
