Descripción

A Day Fragrance by Zara is an aromatic fragrance family creation, designed for men and presented as a new fragrance in 2024. The nose behind this composition is Jérôme Epinette. The top notes unfold with bergamot and lemon, with a touch of acidic lime; the heart reveals petit grain, orange blossom, and narcissus; while the base notes settle on black amber and musk.

A neat cologne with a very well-executed orange blossom note. It feels like it’s of a quality far superior to its price. Although it opens with citrus, these are wrapped and nuanced by the neroli, which is of excellent raw material and takes centre stage throughout A Day’s development. It’s completely unisex, eminently daytime and works very well in summer. It imparts an extreme sense of cleanliness that is quite pleasant. Longevity is acceptable for this type of aroma, around four to five solid hours. It bears a reasonable resemblance to the 2018 Eau de Givenchy. Highly recommended; one of the few from Zara where the perceived quality truly justifies the cost. Cheers.

A proper old-school fragrance, daytime wear with a distinct Italian vibe. It’s marketed as unisex, but the citrus and neroli give it a lovely masculine edge. Smelling it transports me to a sunny day on the Mediterranean coast, in a white shirt and linen trousers, ready to hop on your yacht. This creation by Jerome Epinette is a bargain if you’re after a classic scent for daily wear in hot weather.

  • This Zara perfume reminded me about 98% of the Indélébile by Frederic Malle; the only thing that varies quite a bit is the price, hehe. It’s a simple, unisex floral summer scent with little sillage and very pleasant. No risks involved; given the price, it doesn’t last long on the skin, but it’s worth it.

  • The scent reminds me hugely of the classic Acqua di Parma Colonia. After half an hour on my skin, it’s already gone. For £30, I feel like I’m throwing my money away. It lasts just as long as the 4711 or the Álvarez Gómez one, but at double the price. Better to go for the Acqua di Parma, not because the fragrance is superior—it’s well done—but because of the virtually non-existent longevity relative to the price.

I don’t trust most reviewers, except for a few like Antonio from Fragranceando. But with this and the Night, I came across one of the most bizarre and denigrating reviews I’ve ever seen. A YouTube bloke called PerfumesByPaco dared to cross the line of credibility: he reviewed both without owning them, not even a decant, just from the photo, and to top it off, he claimed the Night smelled like another fragrance he had in his hand. It’s shameful how some pseudo-experts are desperate to become famous at any cost. You have to be careful what you believe in those videos; although we live in a world of fake news, for this to happen in a healthy hobby is disgusting.

  • I am a woman and I have worn this fragrance. At first, it is very citrusy, with lemon and bergamot, before settling into a soft amber, something floral and musky. The heart notes don’t seem entirely masculine to me, so I recommend its unisex use, especially for the warmer seasons.

Nothing particularly innovative, but it does its job very well. I picked it up for around £25 in 50ml, making it a good option for spring and summer, especially straight after a shower. The longevity isn’t the best, but it smells like many Italian perfumes at a very competitive price.
