In my opinion, it’s elegant. The first thing I detect is the verbena, very noticeable; the cedar and flowers add femininity without being sweet. At times, it smells of lemon tree leaves and blossoms. It needs to be applied moderately; a little goes a long way. Longevity is 8 to 9 hours, and in the last two, what remains is a clean scent.

  • I love it, but the longevity isn’t the best, typical of citrus and fresh perfumes. On my skin, it lasts about four hours, though others find it longer. It’s pleasant, nothing special, ideal for gifting or wearing to work. It smells green and clean, something that suits everyone. However, I notice some interference that makes it less vaporous than other fresh scents. The galbanum, cedar, and hyacinth notes give it body and personality; it evokes a forest after a summer storm, water dripping from cedars, wet wood, satisfied earth, intense green moss, and that cool air of a walk. Even if it’s ephemeral like that storm, it’s energising, purifying, and beautiful.

  • Not my style; the galbanum and hyacinth give me an uncontrolled, wild greenness that goes nowhere. At first, I’m hooked by that vigorous, clean lemon, but as usual, it fades as it dries. It’s not bad quality; you can tell it’s from 2009, but simply doesn’t work for me. The longevity is merely average.

  • Perfect for those days when you’re not sure what perfume to wear: it’s neutral, pleasant, and refined.

  • A good attempt by Miyake to break away from the boring. A Scent inherits those crisp, green waters of the seventies. I distinguish two facets: one cold and dry like a river, the other soft and carnal due to that galbanum I can’t stand. It belongs to both, then turns into a green floral, so I don’t wear it comfortably. I don’t know what galbanum does to me; it should enchant me for being herbaceous and wild, but to my nose, it’s soft and puffy, like ambergris or withered fennel, a crude softness that unsettles me and makes my stomach shrink. A Scent is rated as a good product. It smells like a pot of vegetable fat with a lemon verbena that is sharp and rough. As the jasmine enters, it improves like a cold, sweet gin tonic. As it dries, the detergent-like hyacinth with galbanum becomes bacon-like. It has two clear paths: aseptic (lemon verbena) and oily (galbanum hyacinth). Those who like it have a good option. As expected, no one bought it, and it’s discontinued. PS: There are perfumes for smelling good, and this was one of those from when colognes were green and dynamic. PS II: The bottle is pretty.

  • A good attempt by Miyake to distance himself from the rubbish the rest of the house was producing. A Scent is the heir to those crisp, green waters of the seventies. In this family, I’ve always seen two strands: one cold and dry like a river, another soft and carnal due to that note I can’t stand, galbanum. A Scent mixes both, then moves into green floral territory, and I simply can’t wear it comfortably. I don’t know what galbanum has that makes my skin crawl… yes, it’s herbaceous, crisp, woody, bloody hell, I should love it, I’m obsessed with the wild and pastoral. But herbaceous and crisp scents like sage, rosemary, mastic, pistachio or cypress are my favourites. Galbanum just throws me: to my nose, it’s soft and puffy, like old fennel, a raw softness, smoky rubber, half-cooked grass that unsettles me and makes my stomach shrink. A Scent is worth considering, a good product in its range. The scent is easy to imagine: a pot of vegetable fat where the seasoned, rough lemon balm prevails. When the jasmine enters, it offers something nicer, like a cold, sweet gin tonic. In the dry-down, the detergent, bubbly hyacinth, with the galbanum, becomes bacon-like. I don’t know where I read that the dry-down was like a man’s mouth after washing his teeth following a night of alcohol; not bad, because A Scent has two clear paths: aseptic/hygienic (lemon, verbena) and oily (galbanum, hyacinth). Anyone who enjoys this type of water has a good option. As expected in a society that only buys if Ariana Grande is riding a unicorn to announce it, nobody bought it and it’s discontinued. PS. There are perfumes that just serve to smell good. This was one of those, from when hygiene lotions were green, austere, and dynamic. PS II. Editing to add how beautiful the bottle is.

  • A Scent, although classified for women, I consider it unisex. After years without it, I remember it with great affection. It’s a perfume to enjoy, an allegory of life. Bravo Issey Miyake for this jewel.

  • Excellent perfume: fresh, clean, with a purity and sense of well-being that are evident. It starts fresh and citrusy, with lemon and lemon balm giving it a youthful, natural character. It evolves into a white floral, white hyacinth (which smells the most) and sunny Mediterranean jasmine. It’s wearable, unisex, and evokes memories of colognes that lift you to the skies and let you see the city above the rooftops on a clear June morning. The bottle is lovely, cut glass that reflects this minimalist fragrance. Perfect for daytime (not seductive), ideal for stylish, polished work with soft colours. Also looks great for Sunday walks with friends and family. A well-orchestrated perfume and very zen.

It’s a spectacular citrus-herbal scent. Several people have complimented it. On my skin, it feels a bit sweet. I love it. I’d love to get another one.

  • Once again, I confirm that gender has nothing to do with quality or notes. It was love at first sniff and I bought it almost without testing it on my skin. The result was a breeze from Japanese mountains: although it has jasmine and hyacinth, the verbena and juicy lemons with cedar make it very unisex. Almost the greenest I’ve worn (though I have Eau de Campagne by Sisley, which is wilder). With the right heat, it’s in my top 5 for summer. It’s not easy to get (I had it brought from the free shop at Eladia Isabel in Buquebus), but it’s worth every penny. With A Scent, I can make peace with summer, which I’m not usually a big fan of. Projects excellently and lasts over 10 hours.

Lasted hours on my skin and projected beautifully. I bought it based on reviews (and because the bottle felt so refreshing), but the dry-down turned out very floral. A pity! I would have preferred something more citrusy or herbal. Ideal for summer, without a doubt.

  • Joyful little gem. Lasts about four hours max, but if I reapply and put some on my clothes (yes, I don’t mind), it’s sorted. It’s all about feeling good and comfortable🤍
