About Afrikaans
Afrikaans: A Bright Tropical Opening Over a Shadowed Floral Base
Afrikaans by QOT – Question of Time, launched in 2026, is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women and men. It contrasts succulent fruit with a darker, wooded depth.
At its centre is rose in two lights: initially dewy and fruit-led, later drier and spiced, settled upon moss, musk and woods.
Top notes bring together lychee, mango, raspberry, Damask rose and violet leaf. The impression is fruity and tropical, sweet yet lifted by a green, leafy freshness.
The middle stage presents geranium, rose and saffron. Geranium lends an aromatic, fresh-spiced touch, the rose grows rounder, and saffron adds a dry heat typical of the oriental style.
The dry-down unites cashmere wood, moss, musk, oud wood and patchouli. This woody, earthy and musky foundation gives weight, with oud and patchouli providing richness rather than obscuring the fruit.
The overall arc favours fruity, rosy, tropical and sweet facets at first, then woody, musky, warm-spiced and earthy ones, kept in unisex balance.
It will suit those drawn to fruity florals grounded by woods, and wearers who enjoy rose alongside saffron, oud and patchouli without a strictly masculine or feminine slant.
Afrikaans offers a contemporary reading of the Oriental Floral: luminous tropical fruit, a spiced rose centre, and a base of moss and dark woods. Coherent, well proportioned and characterful.
