A top-tier copy of Sauvage Elixir. Smells of cinnamon, spices, and elegance. For men over 35, nothing for teenagers. Wear it with formal or smart-casual attire, not jeans. Best in cool or cold weather, not the heat. For the office? No, it’s for special occasions, not daily use. Longevity is medium-low; the sillage is strong initially but doesn’t project far. Worth it if you want the DNA of the original. PS: the atomiser is another story 👌
Amazonas Drift is a very well-executed dupe of Sauvage Elixir. I already own the other clones (Asad and Salvo), and this one smells slightly sweeter at first, more like Asad. However, it shines in the dry-down and development, coming very close to the original. In that stage, it smells almost identical to Salvo, but with better quality: rounder and less synthetic. In short, it’s an excellent dupe. It’s still too early to judge its total longevity; I’ll let it mature for a while and return with an update on projection and staying power.
I don’t usually write reviews, but since there aren’t any, here goes. Love and disappointment all at once. I bought it in Chile for $20. The scent is spectacular, giving off a ‘winner’ vibe. The 99% will think I’m wearing the original; only the experts notice the differences upon comparison, but what’s the point of nitpicking? People don’t scrutinise that closely. The smell is impeccable, with good projection; as you walk, the aroma radiates. It doesn’t fill the room like the original, but people will definitely notice you. Longevity is the weak point for now. They say it lasts a lifetime, so it must be the maceration. I applied it before bed and it was gone by the next morning. The original doesn’t care; it stays strong and leaves a trail of perfume on the sheets. I’ll test it more and let it oxidise for a few months, as autumn has only just arrived in Chile and it’s still hot. Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY, for $20, it’s better to have it than not.
