Another gem from dl roelen that stands alone and steers clear of the mainstream. At first, it made me grimace, but today it’s my favourite after Flower Boy; I just needed my nose to get used to its quirkiness, and now it’s addictive. The downside: I only had a sample, so I’ll be buying the 7ml because it’s not for daily wear or any occasion. The heart is carried by palo santo and amber, with a sweet, resinous, and woody touch, but the opening hits hard with cannabis (I even got asked if I was wearing ‘Marilyn’) leaving a green and spiced trail. Then come animalic notes and a smoky winter that really muddies the fragrance; at times it’s so dirty that I initially recoiled. It’s very sexy but overwhelming, so I use it during the day in suitable situations, not as an everyday scent.
