The opening is mostly incense and myrrh; I struggle to find the amber. It doesn’t really start to show up until after two hours. The drydown becomes sweeter, with a light vanilla base. I notice the incense from the beginning until the end, plus a slight salty touch that I don’t entirely like. The performance seemed quite good; I can smell it for many hours and it’s noticeable. I’d only wear it in cold climates and see it focused for night outings. Due to the strength of the incense, it seemed more masculine than feminine to me.
The opening is incense and myrrh at full blast; the amber takes a couple of hours to emerge. As it dries, it becomes sweet with a soft vanilla base. The incense lingers from start to finish, with a salty nuance that doesn’t quite convince me. Performance is brutal, it smells incredibly strong. I’ll reserve it for cold weather and night outings. Given the potency of the incense, I see it as more masculine than feminine.
This juice is brilliant! In my opinion, this is sexual, wild, and predatory. A masterful amber blended with campfire ash that traps you and makes you crave cold to counter its warmth. It’s worth a significant outlay, but sometimes luxury is worth it. Do try it in a decant first. Sillage and longevity on the skin are monstrous. For over 30s only.
This juice is brutal! In my opinion, it’s sexual, wild, and predatory. A masterful amber blended with campfire ash; it traps you and makes you crave the cold to release its warmth. Worth a fortune, but sometimes luxury is worth it. Hope you try it on a decant. The trail is excellent and the longevity on skin is monstrous. For those over 30.
I received a sample in a swap with Rafasant. I’m testing it and can only say… IT’S MIND-BLOWING!!! Too bad my wallet is limited, because if not, I’d take it right now. Ambra Aurea is an incredible mix of amber and smoky wood. Amber in all its glory: sweet, resinous, slightly powdery, with animalic and raw touches, very smoky from the incense, almost liturgical but not quite. Beautiful, full of opulence. At first, I thought of ‘Ambre Fetiche’, but up close it’s rawer, more animalic and sweet, though it projects something similar: resinous, leaden, and metallic amber. Then the incense kicks in, turning it into a balsamic, sweet, and very smoky amber, with smoky wood and sweet nuances. The rest is a wood and amber accord with subtle leather and patchouli notes, more complex and precious. It stays on the skin until it’s completely skin-scented. A stunning oriental resinous fragrance that cures hiccups. Performance is excellent, lasting over 10 hours on skin, with a good trail initially that drops to moderate, but it’s not a dud. It gradually fades until it disappears. A night perfume for cold and temperate climates. A seduction weapon for elegant dates. A special occasion fragrance; a waste to use daily. Essential for lovers of orientals and resins. Unique beauty, not for everyone. You can see the quality of ingredients and the high price, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny. Too bad my wallet isn’t more spacious to afford it now, but I won’t rule it out for the future.
A high-quality fragrance, dark and deep, yet with an inner light and warmth that captivate. Ambra Aurea begins with a warm, opulent aura that radiates, surrounded by fine, silky smoke, highlighting myrrh, incense, and a hint of labdanum. It transforms hour by hour, becoming sweeter each time. It’s not pure amber; amber isn’t the initial protagonist, as @Oscarsh86 noted. It’s not cold or dry smoke; it’s balsamic, resinous, and flexible. Profumum Roma offers a straightforward construction but a complex fragrance, with exceptional durability and quality, like a bowl of warm liquid resin. Suitable for almost any occasion: noble, luxurious, and erotic. From the first date to cuddling with a book. Worth the investment if your wallet allows. (Courtesy of the great Darkbeat)
Amber? No, it’s pure incense. If you’re looking for warm amber, you’ll be disappointed. It projects little but lasts a long time. Like all fragrances from this house, they are linear without complex evolutions, but of high quality. You’ll get plenty of compliments from incense lovers.
36 hours of longevity, no joke. I smelled my wrist and it was still faintly there. The scent is addictive.
Profumum Roma is a benchmark house. Here, it evokes a liturgical, mystical room where faith becomes reality. Incense, myrrh, and resins offer tremendous depth and peace, with a dark touch—nothing celestial. A perfect, natural olfactory journey. The evolution is linear, yet the notes are noticeable quickly; as it dries down, it becomes sweeter without losing its incense character. Simply wonderful. Ideal for cold weather and personal use. I don’t see it for dinner parties; it’s for me. Lasts incredibly long and projects well. A masterpiece.
Longevity of 36 hours and I’m not joking; I smelled my wrist and it was still faintly detectable. The scent is addictive.
Profumum Roma is a reference house for me. Here it evokes a liturgical room, mystical, a place where faith becomes reality. A magic filled with incense, myrrh, and resins, tremendously deep and bringing me peace, though it has something dark, nothing celestial. These are aromas that take you on a unique olfactory journey, where I let myself be led by the creator to a perfect reality. It’s very natural and real. The evolution doesn’t change much, but the notes are detected quickly. As it dries, it becomes sweeter without losing its incensed character. What a wonder. For cold seasons and personal enjoyment, I don’t see myself wearing it to dinners with people; it’s for me. It outperforms what’s written and projects a lot. A masterpiece.
I tried it yesterday on a decant in Santiago. It’s extraordinary: an enchanting smoky vibe, like a fireplace on a rainy day with roasted hazelnuts. Very ceremonial and fascinating. Not for everyone, but for certain tastes, it’s a match made in heaven. I’m going for it.
Potent unisex scent, but it clings to the skin. The trail is minimal; you have to get very close to notice it.
