Fantastic and overwhelming. The best part is its dry-down: powdery myrrh with suede, jasmine, and a sweet touch of periwinkle and lotus flower. Spectacular.
I like it. It begins citrusy and slightly spiced, quickly moving to a tarred, smoky leather with sweet nuances. The heart is floral and dries down to a resinous finish with myrrh, tobacco, and oud. It is a leather-heavy oriental, smoky-resinous, dark but with a sweet and floral touch. More masculine than feminine and suited for cold weather. The performance is good, with quality ingredients. Ideal for autumn and winter, in the evening. Longevity is very long-lasting and the sillage is moderate.
This smells like ‘children, do not try this at home’. It is potent, distinguished, and very original. For me, it is nocturnal and cold, without being dark, and it doesn’t seek freshness. It doesn’t smell of smoke, but of tarred, spiced incense with an incredible leather base. The amber is secondary; it’s not the typical amber. It suits a charismatic, bohemian man or someone of the ‘dark side’ for everyday wear. You need personality to wear it; 95% of people won’t like it. As a filter, its utility is invaluable.
At first, I was doubtful about the spicy and animalic notes, but the sample convinced me: it is well-balanced. The spices are there, yet they don’t steal the elegance of the blend. Anubis isn’t loud; it starts dense and resinous, almost sticky, but that sensation passes quickly. Then it settles, turning sweet with a bitter touch. The leather is light, not aggressive, and blends with the incense thanks to the creaminess of the sandalwood, preventing it from being too smoky. Exotic flowers enrich it. At some point, it smells like melted wax, warm and sensual, which I love. It’s fascinating, original yet wearable, with a medium longevity on my skin. Good work.
