Continuing with the new releases this year, this Aqua Allegoria Nettare di Sole caught me by surprise. It’s fresh, floral with a pollen scent and very wearable. Ideal for the day and heat, it brings back memories of seaside walks alongside freshly bloomed white flowers. It smells of fresh pollen, of waiting for bees to gather honey, not like honey in Serge Lutens. On my skin it’s not new, but it’s luminous and of good quality. I find it slightly synthetic but well-made, nothing heavy or overpowering. Easy to wear, very feminine, for informal styles and low-pressure jobs, like secretaries. Others will like it and it will be noticeable from a distance. Leaves a good trail for the first two hours. A summer and warm perfume.
How refreshing! It starts with an aquatic opening and Calabrian bergamot, floral notes where orange blossom stands out with that constant honey sweetness without being cloying. Perfect for spring-summer, it gives a sense of optimism, freedom and radiance, as if the sun touched you with a sea breeze. It lasts 4-5 hours, moderate trail and the price… a bit high.
Nettare di Sole lives up to its name: an incredible nectar that opens with orange blossom, smelling of the Three Kings cake without being cloying; mixed with water and bergamot and wrapped in soft honey, it makes me want to bathe in it on sunny days. Although it lasts 4 or 5 hours, it conveys peace and happiness, like those walks by the sea.
Flowers, flowers and more flowers… I detect not a trace of honey, a pure ode to spring.
Dear Nettare di Sole by Guerlain, how is it possible that you are proclaimed an EDT when on my skin you are a full EDP? Few perfumes last this long, but it is no longer just about longevity; it is the evolution. During the first five hours you boast of your name, a sweet nectar or honey from a thousand white flowers, nothing cloying. But after those five hours, what has happened? You have transformed into a powerful, familiar citrus, very similar to that of Pret a Porter by Coty. Here I am, after seven hours you are still present, losing strength but noticeable close to the skin. Without a doubt, I include you in my ‘I want to keep you’ list.
Dear Nettare di Sole by Guerlain, how is it possible that you are sold as an EDT when on my skin you are a full EDP? Few perfumes last this long, but here it’s not just that, it’s the evolution. The first 5 hours you live up to your name, a sweet nectar or honey from a thousand white flowers, nothing cloying. What happens after? You transform into a powerful and familiar citrus, very similar to Pret a Porter by Coty, I don’t know how but it happens. Here I am, 7 hours later and you are still present, losing strength but noticeable close to the skin. Without a doubt I put you on my ‘I want it’ list.
It is the Nivea cream with the blue cap, there is no more to say. Rich, but I am not sure if it is worth buying. If you are a fan of the Nivea scent, go ahead.
I love its citrus but sweet opening. I detect a lot of orange blossom. Very feminine, delicate and tender. Afterwards there is a soft floral aroma, very pleasant and sweet.
I love its citrus yet sweet opening. I detect a lot of neroli. Very feminine, delicate and tender. Then a soft floral aroma follows, very pleasant and sweet. I like it.
I love Guerlain’s ode to bees in their Aqua Allegoria range. The little bee on the cap, the golden honeycomb. This Nettare di Sole has floral notes with plenty of sun. It is a sweet solar scent that brings to mind cutting the stem of a flower and a drop of sweet, transparent nectar appearing. That honey with a floral aftertaste, well, in a perfume with aquatic notes like dew. I like that a fragrance awakens associations in me. I would not buy it again (I want to try others like Flora Selvaggia or Bergamotto di Calabria) but I enjoy it immensely.
TRULY A SOLAR NECTAR. It is one of the first Aquas I have smelled that is homogeneous, not just a single note. At first it seemed curious; I was not quite sure how it made me feel. It is floral with natural notes, but the florals recede to let the aquatic and solar notes take centre stage. Further back, the sweetness of the honey is felt, adding a very slight sweetness. It seems super interesting to me. It is soft, subtle and curious. I feel compelled to apply it to my skin. The more I smell it, the more I like it. Fresh, tempting and different.
DEFINITELY A SOLAR NECTAR. Of the first Aqua Allegoria I’ve smelled, it’s a homogeneous fragrance, not just a single note. At first sniff it seemed curious, I wasn’t quite sure how it felt. It’s floral with natural notes, but the floral stays in the background so the aquatic and, above all, the solar notes can be the protagonists. Further back the sweetness of honey is felt, managing to be distinguished and adding a very slight sweetness. The truth is it’s a super interesting fragrance of those I’ve tried. It’s super soft, subtle and curious. It makes me want to try it on skin and see what comes out. The more I smell it, the more I like it. Fresh, tempting and different.
Guerlain Pour Petits or Guerlain Pour Enfants they should have been called. I would rate it as childlike, but not negatively. I bought it for the price and to complete the collection, but I would not pay the original price. It is honey, sun and white flowers; not cloying or invasive, but do not expect sublime sensations. Perfectly unisex, though I lean towards feminine. It reminds me of Savane di Seta by SV, although the Italian one is more intense. It smells good, but nothing extraordinary. If they discontinue it, do not worry, it is not made to linger in the olfactory memory.
I needed a gift and found the 75ml for 36 euros (it was 65 a month ago), so I took the plunge. It smells innocent, clean, floral and harmless. It does not smell like sunscreen, but rather like baby cologne with a touch of talcum powder. Then a hyper-realistic spring pollen scent emerges, followed by a subtle, non-cloying hint of honey after three hours. Longevity is around five hours and it is discreet. It is an ode to spring. Although unisex, it tends towards feminine over time, but I, being a man, would wear it without hesitation for an afternoon on the terrace.
I needed a gift and found 75ml of this Nettare di Sole for 36 euros, when a month ago they cost 65 in the same shop, so I jumped in blindly. It smells good: innocent, delicate, clean, floral and harmless. The ‘Aqua’ concept fits, it’s light and wearable. In English and on YouTube some say it smells like sunscreen, I don’t believe it. The first hour reminds me of baby cologne: harmless, clean and a bit powdery. As it develops, a quality scent appears, very realistic and evocative of spring pollen, I repeat, pollen not flowers. From the third hour onwards a light and subtle honey emerges, nothing sugary or heavy, so whoever expects lots of honey should forget it. Duration: approx. 5 hours, trail and projection moderate, almost discreet. Season: an ode to spring. Quality: although the duration isn’t the best, the quality is evident, the floral pollen scent is hyper-realistic. Although it’s unisex, over time it tends to be feminine, but in general it’s so innocent and delicate that I, being a man, wouldn’t hesitate to wear it with a shirt and chinos for an afternoon in spring on the terrace with good company.
A blind buy that turned out well. I realised I adore neroli blossom with honey. After a year of maturing, it concentrated more and improved its longevity. It is a perfume that brings me joy.
Smells like a cheerful, carefree summer. The concept is a perfect 10: the bottle with its golden hexagons, the poetic name, and that liquid which smells of honeyed pollen. It is the only Aqua Allegoria I have tried and it deserves a place in my collection.
Very rich, fresh and elegant, ideal for all year round but especially for summer. It has an ‘old money’ vibe without being dated; it is vibrant. You can taste the honey and I love that. It is truly versatile.
