About Arkano della Morte
Arkano della Morte: A Shadowed Incense Ritual from V Canto
Dating from 2026, Arkano della Morte by V Canto is a woody oriental for women and men, created by Paolo Terenzi.
From the first breath it favours contrast: supple suede with a gentle animal touch set against pepper and pink pepper, while incense lends a grave, almost liturgical calm.
At the opening, suede, pepper, pink pepper and incense are woven together. The suede feels smooth and velvety against the skin, the peppers lend dry, bright spice, and the incense introduces cool smoke with a mineral clarity.
The middle shifts towards spice and resin through cardamom, cypriol, coumarin and Spanish labdanum. Cardamom preserves an aromatic freshness, cypriol brings an earthy, root-like woodiness, and labdanum casts a warm balsamic veil over the composition. Coumarin adds a restrained, hay-like softness.
The foundation rests on grey amber, clary sage, costus, musk and styrax. Grey amber offers saline depth, costus an earthy, physical warmth, and musk a seamless, enveloping finish. Clary sage contributes an herbal lift that prevents heaviness, with styrax reinforcing the resinous thread.
In character it spans amber, balsamic, woody and musky tones, touched by both fresh spice and warm spice. There is a discernible earthy-animal undercurrent, held in check by the aromatic greenness and the resins.
Ceremonial and nocturnal in mood, it is a woody oriental to be worn unhurriedly and allowed to evolve on the skin. Dense and contemplative rather than casually fresh, it rewards patience as its amber-resin trail gradually widens.
It should suit those who enjoy woody orientals centred on incense, soft suede and resins, and followers of Paolo Terenzi whose work favours amber depth with an animalic ground. Well placed for lovers of enveloping, dark ritual scents, worn without regard to gender.
Arkano della Morte closes on grey amber, musk and styrax, honouring its title: a reflection on shadow that never loses poise. A potent and consistent addition to the V Canto repertoire.
