Better than Vetiver Tonka or Fatal, with its own subtle twists. Upon opening, the vetiver and cedar deliver a strong woody scent; blood orange adds a noticeable citrus-fruit note. Licorice and tonka bean provide a light sweetness that fits perfectly. Yes, it recalls the earlier scents, but I can detect those distinct nuances. Here, the vetiver is more prominent than in Aqua Nobilis or Fumidus, creating a woodier base without losing that gourmand creaminess. There isn’t much evolution; it’s more linear, yet at different times the wood, orange, or licorice takes centre stage—it’s a dance of notes. The vetiver smells the same as in other fragrances from the brand, though the final result is different. Performance is excellent: good projection at first, then close to the skin, yet it lasts for hours and hours, seemingly endless. It suits me better on male skin due to the woods, although the semi-sweet base gives it a feminine touch. I absolutely loved it: good quality, lovely scent, and enviable longevity. My only complaints are the price and that it’s not very original for copying an earlier concept, but it remains a great perfume.
