Loewe Aura Eau de Toilette, created in 2014 by perfumer Olivier Cresp, is an oriental floral olfactive family jewel designed for women. Its olfactive pyramid unfolds with a fresh and vibrant top note of rose water, lychee, mandarin, and lemon. The heart reveals a floral and fruity harmony composed of magnolia, rose, raspberry, and sambac jasmine. To finish, the base offers a warm and enveloping blend of leather, sandalwood, musk, and amber.

Strangely, the EDT comes across as stronger than the EDP (I presume the amber and musk work against it). The tangerine is listed in the notes but isn’t detectable, perhaps neutralised by such a potent base. I didn’t like it.
Nauseating, nauseating! It’s a total failure for me. An intrusive, cheap lemon, nothing like the cheerful freshness of Les Escapes by Dior. And the musk is even worse; it smells incredibly synthetic and overpowering.
I love it! I hadn’t known about it until I tried it on my skin two days ago and went crazy. It’s subtle and soft, yet it hugs you and you notice it all day. There’s a strong lemon note at first, followed by jasmine, magnolia and leather. It feels delicate and elegant, perfect for spring. Lasts five hours on the skin and six to seven hours close to the skin.
Absolutely gorgeous. I tried a sample at the perfumerie and fell in love instantly. It’s super feminine and soft, yet lasts about six hours on the skin. I can see myself wearing it in spring or summer; it smells like straight out of the shower. I’ll definitely be buying it soon as I adore leather scents. Very well done, Loewe.
