  • If you want to smell like a millionaire, use this. It’s another level, pure class and elegance; people turn around because of the scent. Definitely a must-have. The incense and woods give a touch of luxury, ideal for afternoon or evening dates, totally spiced.

  • This perfume lives up to its name: it’s a masterpiece. I love the bottle, with its aluminium strip and etched glass; the cap has weight and the logo. The scent surprised me; you don’t need to be an expert to notice the incense. It smells like an inkwell with years of use, very well constructed. I didn’t expect so much from Montblanc; it’s better quality than their other perfumes and unique. If they sold it like Tom Ford, I’d buy it without hesitation. On my skin, it projects well, with bursts even after three hours. I got it for around $90; it’s not cheap, but there are outrageous prices. I’ve loved it immensely; it radiates seriousness and elegance.

  • Montblanc Black Meistertuck is smoky, leathery, and woody. It reminds me of wooden posts painted with asphalt—a leather accord. The incense is more smoky than ecclesiastical. Although they say amber, it smells like leather and spices to me, and it doesn’t evolve; it’s the same from start to finish. Very elegant for special occasions or the office. I think it suits middle-aged or mature people better. It lasts almost 8 hours, but the trail is short; only the first hour projects, then it stays close to the skin. The bottles are great; this is the prettiest, it looks like an inkwell.

  • You can’t find it on sale or in discount shops, only in department stores in Spain at niche prices. The style reminds me of the Nightology collection by Jesús del Pozo, so I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Time will tell.

I tried this Montblanc line and it’s a wonder. It smells like a successful executive, a blend of incense, amber, and woods, sweet and soft. It has that ink note they were looking for. It’s a hybrid between designer and niche, lasting an eternity. It doesn’t project much, but it’s delicious and top quality. The price for 125ml is high, but exclusive and hard to find. To be honest, the best designer fragrance I’ve heard of; my next purchase.

My wife gifted it to me in Liverpool. At first, I thought it smelled different, but it’s beautiful and lasted hours on my skin. She chose it for our anniversary. It’s the perfect perfume with a suit: sweet incense, little change in its evolution, but it lasts a long time if you don’t apply too little—minimum 8-9 hours. Thanks @fragarab.

I first smelled it at a counter in Liverpool; initially, it seemed like a very different and, above all, elegant aroma, and I liked that it lasted long on the tester. My wife gifted it to me for our anniversary, and I’ve started wearing it; in my opinion, it’s a scent to wear when dressed in a suit. It reminds me slightly of sweet incense and is a fragrance with little evolution as hours pass, though it lasts incredibly long if you overuse the atomiser, a minimum of 8 to 9 hours. @fragarab

  • The first time I tried it, it left me a bit overwhelmed, but it’s a beast. The incense really shines, giving it a super elegant and masculine touch. Ideal for formal evening dinners in autumn or winter; in the heat, it dissipates quickly. Worth every euro for the longevity and trail—it’s a masterpiece.

Finally! Mont Blanc with niche perfumes. It’s one of those scents where you say: it has something of this, something of that; but as a whole, it resembles nothing. A strong incense note comes out at first and disappears quickly to make way for the protagonist: the amber, along with another undeclared but very present note: ink. I loved it and will be testing its performance and trail. An elegant, mature perfume for grown-ups.

At first sniff, my expectations dropped due to the resemblance to Loewe 7, but following it further, the Mont Blanc is much finer, serious, dark and mysterious, like the trend of black-bottle fragrances. It reminds me of Bentley Absolute, but without that hyper-woody, dirty edge; it only brings the Loewe memory via the incense, whereas Loewe veers towards a sharp, soapy, fresh line that doesn’t convince me because it smells like laundry detergent. This Mont Blanc is elegant and literally delivers on the stated notes: a dark incense with amber and a hint of fresh green in the base. I liked it very much. It’s a matter of personal taste, but it doesn’t overwhelm nor do I think it would disgust anyone who smells it. Excellent edition: I tested it on skin and it’s another experience. The opening is like realistic ink; as it settles, the notes become clearer, I detect a woody aspect and the incense stands out. It’s an incense/woody, dark/greenish perfume, a touch of earthy herbs but very friendly. Put it all together and you get that particular ink aroma. I think it’s very good, balsamic, deep, dark, elegant, intimate and smoky; the notes are exactly as they should be, though I feel the amber fades quite a bit on my skin.

  • A fragrance that breaks the Mont Blanc mould, a powerful niche with influences from Loewe 7 and Nasomatto’s Duro, but with its own life. An experience to savour.

Extremely powerful, not due to longevity or projection, but because it smells of power. I know of no similar aroma; it’s unique. People say it resembles one thing or another, but I don’t know; it’s truly outstanding across the entire Mont Blanc line, by far the best. It has become my signature scent. Try it.

Basic yet wonderful. A perfume that emanates spirituality; the combination of its three elements (incense, amber and vetiver) creates an atmosphere that projects calm, wisdom and maturity.

What a tremendous collection; these four Mont Blancs are excellent: original, purposeful, even audacious. The downside is that designers charge near-niche prices for a scent that blends in with any other. Black Meisterstück is tough, solid and direct, built around three notes: it starts with incense (reminiscent of Loewe Anónimo) before evolving into dark, dry, bitter woods that are almost medicinal, barely ambered. Imagine something warmer for winter, but it works almost year-round. It’s for informal yet serious occasions, with a frown on. It’s a tough and distinguished perfume. Performance is fair, around five to six hours, projecting perhaps an hour. Quite unique; worth it, save for the price.

What a brilliant collection this is from Montblanc. The four releases are excellent, original, characterful, even bold. The downside is that designers price them almost at niche levels for a scent that blends in with everything else. Black Meisterstück is a hard, solid, direct composition with just three notes; at first, it hints at incense reminiscent of Loewe Anónimo, but it doesn’t go there. It evolves into dark woods, dry, bitter, almost medicinal, with barely any amber. Imagine if it were warmer for winter, but the opposite is true; this works well almost year-round. It’s for informal yet serious occasions, with a frown on your face. It’s a rough and distinguished fragrance. Performance is fair, lasting 5 to 6 hours, which is sufficient, projecting for perhaps an hour. Quite unique, and despite the price, it’s well worth it.

  • It’s one of those fragrances you need to have explored the world of perfumery to truly understand and appreciate, and yet it might still not suit you. It’s dark incense with a sweet, amber touch. Yes, it recalls ink slightly. It reminds me of Bentley for Men Absolute. Definitely don’t buy blindly, even if you’re experienced.

  • What an elegant perfume; the incense clings to the nose for a long time. I was surprised…

  • A very elegant, dark and exquisite scent. I’d sensed it before, and after searching my memory, I confirm it’s very similar to Antonio Banderas’ Secret Temptation, though with higher-quality ingredients.

  • I’ve finally got mine; a girl sold it to me at a bargain price with an almost-new tester. If you want to know what it smells like, search for Old Spice Supremacy deodorant. At first, I regretted buying the Dynasty because it seemed boring and old-fashioned, but then I grew to love it. With the Mont Blanc, the moment I opened it, I adored it, yet felt I’d smelled it before. Later I realised: they aren’t identical, but it serves as a perfect reference point.

  • Tlakochkalkatl

Love at first sight; when I smell it, I close my eyes and am transported to a large, dark, cold Gothic cathedral filled with wood, where a mystical smoky incense floats. It draws me closer with the echo of my steps to an ancestral and deep ceremony, attracting me with the sweetness of the amber to participate… Simply irresistible, a fragrance that sets your imagination free, to use as a complement to personality and not just a requirement. The best I’ve found this year.

  • A very dark fragrance, closely related to Loewe 7 and Loewe 7 Anónimo. An incense that, instead of conjuring a church for me, takes me to the opposite side: witches, spells, occultism (well, every madman has their own topic). It’s very elegant, though I understand it may not suit everyone. If you know and like the Loewe scents I mentioned, buy it with your eyes closed; otherwise, test it first. Black Meisterstück is 100% nocturnal, ideal for cold climates, though it also works well on a cool spring night and has excellent longevity on skin. I love it and give it 10 points. Best wishes to the community.

  • uriel.camacho

A scent totally different from the commercial norm, a strong and elegant incense. At times it smells of church, but it’s rich and subtle. Excellent for cold autumn and winter days.

  • A well-dark perfume, very close to the Loewe 7 and Anonyme. An incense that takes me not to church but to the opposite side: witches, spells, occultism (everybody has their own take). It’s very elegant, but it may not be for everyone. If you know and like the Loewe, buy it with your eyes closed; if not, test it first. Black Meisterstück is 100% nocturnal, ideal for cold weather, suits crisp spring evenings, and has excellent longevity. I like it a lot; I give it 10 points. Cheers.

  • A dark incense perfume, ecclesiastical, smoky, with body yet airy, mysterious and ritualistic. For men, to stand out and look well-dressed. The amber isn’t sweet but cold; that’s how I perceive it. It adds body, a cold sensation, almost resinous and metallic. The vetiver is barely earthy but adds freshness. The incense dominates; it’s almost linear. Performance (dry skin): 7 hours well projected and 2 more close to the skin. Sillage: heavy and moderate for 1.5 hours, then moderate for another 1.5 hours before fading in the fourth hour. Age: +24. Projection: shoulder to wrist for 2 hours, a large bubble that decays to personal space. Seasons: autumn, winter, crisp spring days, and evenings. Occasions: formal, work, parties (if you don’t like sweet scents) or dinner. More of a night scent than day, though works on cloudy days.

  • The same Colors Man Black by Benetton. Nothing more to search for. Intense to the point of no return.

  • On skin, it comes out sweeter and more ambered than I expected. On paper, it smells harder and colder. I’m not sure about the trail; one would have to smell it on someone else. For now, it’s fine and I like it. I got it very cheap, almost a third of the store price. Extreme Leather remains my favourite in the line, but Black M has better performance.

  • Totally in the line of Loewe 7… I thought it would be more potent. It has good longevity, but I consider it overpriced for what it offers, just like the Elixir. They are certainly priced up, but they are rich, elegant incenses.

  • On the first spray, an intense aroma of amber and incense, like stepping into a temple from the early 20th century. Lasts easily over 12 hours, with a trail for the first six before settling close to the skin. The only downside is the price in department stores, though you can get it for a fraction of that at duty-free or Privalia. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 10/10, Value: 7/10.

  • Picked it up on Vinted, a 2ml sample that I’ve topped up. The incense is tamed and soft, nothing harsh or overpowering. If I find a bottle at a good price, I’ll definitely grab it.
