About Blue Code
Blue Code from El Ganso: a Woody Aquatic Fragrance for 2026
El Ganso has launched Blue Code, a new men's fragrance that sits in the woody aquatic olfactory family. The 2026 release was crafted by perfumer Romain Almairac, delivering a fresh and refined scent with a contemporary twist.
The top notes are green apple, bergamot, and cardamom, a combination that feels vibrant and slightly crisp. Green apple gives a juicy sharpness, bergamot adds the expected citrus zing, and cardamom introduces a gentle spice. This opening is both invigorating and accessible, setting a clear tone for the rest of the composition.
This scent is for men who enjoy fresh, marine and woody compositions but also want a hint of sweetness through vanilla and amber. It works well for the office, casual weekend wear, and outdoor activities, thanks to its balanced personality.
Blue Code stands out as a versatile and well-made addition to El Ganso's portfolio. It offers the best of both worlds: refreshing aquatic notes and a cosy woody base. For a man seeking a reliable, year-round fragrance with a modern edge, this is a strong candidate.

Made in Madrid and it’s marvellous in terms of performance and projection. The scent on dry-down isn’t particularly original, but it’s excellent quality for the price. I’d recommend it, but as I said, it’s a bit commercial, and I have to say the packaging quality has gone down and the bottle looks cheaper, but what matters is what’s inside, which has quality to spare, and these people at El Ganso have never failed me to date.
