Part Time Hero by El Ganso

In Mexico, it smells identical to the green Caprice shampoo: super fresh, clean and green, nothing more.

It didn’t convince me. It has a good citrus opening, but after a while it smells strongly of moss and stagnant water, almost like a riverbank. Perhaps it works better on other skin types.

Very much in the line of The Goose, an interesting casual-elegant scent. Moderate longevity and projection. Citrus and herbal opening, always underpinned by noticeable juniper. As it dries, the florals (rose) come out better, then oakmoss and guaiac wood appear. Perhaps my favourite of The Goose.

Interesting fragrance. At first, it smells of lemon peel with rose, lavender, and Virginia juniper, a rich and singular scent evoking the countryside after months of rain under the first rays of spring sun. As it dries, you perceive a soap aroma and a subtle talc note, like that childhood Nivea shower gel, very clean and fresh. In the end, it lingers on the skin with a fresh rose, like a face cream. Worth trying, but don’t buy it blind. It’s unisex and ideal when it’s very hot. Fragrance 7/10, longevity 7/10.

A curious perfume that smells of bubble bath and White Woolite sheep’s wool. It’s linear, different, affordable and has a softening soapy scent that doesn’t disgust me.

The first time I tried it, it was a bit of a ‘no’, a pleasant citrus and herbal scent but not standout. With the second test, something curious happened: it reminded me of the opening of Lin Abart’s Agua de Yerba, which I loved and now only remember. That’s why I think it has something special.

Curious because at first it reminded me of fig leaf, being a green citrus aroma. Then fresh rose emerges, as if sprinkled with rain, with a green note where a sweet lemon is key. Later on, it smells of powdered detergent, very clean. It’s pleasant, brings joy and well-being. For spring and summer, totally unisex. It lasts longer than it seems, especially on clothes. PS: If ‘Bravo Monsieur’ is a clone of Santal 33, ‘Part Time Hero’ is a clone of Mirto di Panarea by Aqua di Parma.

I really liked it. It’s an uncomplicated perfume: it starts citrusy with a green touch, then on my skin, the rose takes over. Imagine a Lacoste Essential, less green, more citrus at the start, and much more rose at the end. They’ve executed it well, avoiding those sweet notes I hate (tonka, hazelnuts, vanilla) and that cheap synthetic white musk that even expensive brands use. The rose is fresh, floral, with a slight soapy touch. Perhaps the ingredients aren’t top-tier, but the blend is good and it doesn’t seem like a direct clone of anything. The performance is standard, maybe a bit above average: it lasts over four hours without being too projecting. Worth it for the price, which is around £30 for 125ml.

An interesting citrus, but I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind. Its great virtue is that it smells unique, with no associations to other perfumes. The opening is super citrusy, then the aromatic notes and rose emerge. I think it’s unisex. After a few days, the longevity is good. At around 20-25 euros for 75 ml, it has good value for money. My rating: 7/10.
