Boss Jour Pour Femme by Hugo Boss is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2013, this composition features the freshness of lime and grapefruit blossom in its top notes. • Very soft; I’d call it a bland fragrance for those who like white flowers; a very simple amber is perceived in the base. On my skin it doesn’t last more than three hours.

A fairly common perfume for the price it has. It’s a sweet and fresh floral, but it doesn’t catch my attention for use.

  • Another magazine sample! I’m smelling it right now and I agree with the previous reviews; it’s a very regular fresh/floral perfume, with nothing special or standout. The lemon note is very muddled with the supposed white flowers and amber; the result is a floral, fresh and warm scent, giving me the idea of ‘light’… if that sounds strange, I know, but it would be like a faint, barely perceptible ray of sunshine. It leaves me with the same feeling as all the perfumes from this brand… utterly boring.

  • Another magazine sample. I heard it now and agree: regular fresh/floral, nothing special. The lemon blends with white flowers and amber to give a warm floral, like a dim ‘light’. It’s odd, but leaves a boring impression of all the brand’s perfumes.

A perfume that intrigued me and I tested in store; the result was that it seemed nothing out of the ordinary. It fulfils the function of being pleasing (because it is pleasant), but for its price I wouldn’t buy it. It smells of white flowers, but not in a special way. I love Gwyneth, which is why the advertising attracted me, but I don’t think I’ll buy it; there are other more interesting ones to try and wear.

Take any fresh, synthetic floral essence, add a few drops of lemon, mix well and splash it into your favourite Nivea cream… Boom! Boss Jour Pour Femme. If I think about it: utterly boring. I agree with Ambrelover. I’ll just add that it reminded me of the style of Elizabeth Arden’s 5th Avenue, but without the fruit… this is definitely a ‘floral’. If they gifted it to me, I’d use it on beach days; I imagine it works well there because over time it softens, the flowers smell more like flowers (less synthetic) and the lemon emerges and intensifies, giving pleasant sensations. If it existed in a hair spray version, I’d give it more of a chance. A comment: in the advert with Gwyneth, the image is of a military wife or something similar, ‘classy’ style (I don’t identify much with her); it reminded me of characters from Army Wives… that left me thinking LOL.

  • I agree with everyone. It’s simple, fresh and pleasant, but irrelevant to me. The packaging is pretty and the advertising attractive, but it doesn’t meet my expectations. It’s not unpleasant at all, but it makes me feel uncomfortable (I feel it all the time); it’s not for me. It has good longevity; others can still smell it at 12pm. I was gifted it and will try mixing it with other perfumes to see if anything good comes out.

  • It’s very similar to Dolce & Gabbana’s Dolce, but better executed, less harsh and less green. I prefer this one.

  • Tested on skin and it feels insubstantial; a floral-citrus scent with no sillage or longevity. Nothing special for this brand… not even Gwyneth Paltrow convinced me.

Just bought it and I love it; on my skin it releases a touch of mandarin. However, the truth is it doesn’t last as long as I’d like. Fresh and youthful.

Just bought it and I’m absolutely smitten. It has a tangerine citrus note on the skin, but the longevity is short. Fresh and youthful.

  • It’s a ‘chill’ perfume, very pleasant for dinner because it’s soft, not intrusive and lacks strong personality. I like it for warm climates, spring and summer… subtle, feminine… for girls who aren’t too dichotomous or borderline, haha! I give it a 7… quite good…

  • I agree with Yennys: appointing Gwyneth Paltrow as the brand ambassador has been a proper disaster. Now I know she was responsible for me never feeling interested. And the reason can’t be explained. It’s odd. The same happened with Lancôme’s Vie est belle. It’s curious because they are actresses I like, but I advise brands not to use celebrities. I avoid those perfumes automatically. I’ve never owned one by a famous person and I’m already 28. Does it really resemble the Dolce & Gabbana one? Because I don’t like the Dolce one at all.

  • I don’t quite like it. At first I wore it happily, fresh and floral with lots of lily, but now it seems flat and unfunny. I think I’ll gift it and look for another fragrance; do you have any recommendations?

  • I don’t quite like it. At first I used it happily because it seemed fresh and floral, with lots of lily, but now it smells flat, as if it has no character. I think I’ll give it away and look for another fragrance, any recommendations?

  • I fell in love with the mandarin note. It’s a pity it didn’t last on my skin as long as I wanted.

  • Beautiful, fresh, citrus and energetic… but it doesn’t last at all. Nothing like the Dolce. In other words, the Dolce isn’t citrusy.

  • Beautiful, fresh, citrusy, and energetic, but it doesn’t last at all. Nothing like the Dolce, which isn’t citrusy.

  • I own this perfume; it’s fresh, floral, amber and creamy woody, with no citrus notes. It has good longevity and trail. I bought it blind for the price and because I trust Hugo Boss’s women’s fragrances. I recommend it.

  • I own it and it smells lovely: fresh, floral, amber, and creamy woody, without any noticeable citrus. The sillage and projection are decent. I bought it blind for the price and because I know Hugo Boss’s women’s fragrances smell great. Recommended.

I fell in love when I tried it dry, smelling like a basket of mandarins; the mistake was buying it without testing it on my skin. What a disappointment! It didn’t last 10 minutes. It’s a shame because it smells wonderful.

  • I don’t detect any citrus notes; it’s more creamy, soft and rich. The trail isn’t strong but it lasts 10 hours.
